A good hotel, close to shops, taxis, food and the airport. Helpful and friendly staff. Checkin could be better as there is often a wait while rooms are made ready or cleaned. Overall a very nice stay.

We had stay for new year eve at this hotel, we got gala dinner party at ballroom which is very entertaining for our children who likes cartoon characters so much, thanks to reception staff Mr Robby, Mr Rafsan, and the lady with Trainee name tag, for the information to enjoying fireworks display from poolside

At 4 pm rooms still not ready (we booked 3 rooms and requested for connecting room - which is not available). We got the rooms around 5 pm and no towels! I We finally got the towels at 7 pm after 3x requests! We understand this is high season, but Hotel should anticipate in advance. Just because the previous guests can pay penalty for late check-out, it doesn't mean that the next guests should sacrifice for waiting (we have the right for check-in at 2 pm as per hotel policy!). Hotel must be strict not to allow for extend if the Hotel is full.

Coming back to this hotel again, still the best hotel in balikpapan.
Facilities and services was good as before, clean and tidy room, friendly housekeeping and receptionist staff.

I have stayed at Grand Jatra a couple of times this year and have had very good service on both occasions. First time I stayed, I was given room close to the karaoke lounge so I couldn't sleep well on the first night. Second time I asked for a room far from the same lounge and that area was very quiet.
Reception was good and they were willing to keep my luggage before check in time. I just wish that they were willing to let me in to my room if it was ready so I could freshen up before going to work.
Room was spacious and fairly clean.
Bed needed replacement as it wasn't as comfortable, including the pillows.
Towels in the bathroom also need replacement as they are getting very old and worn out.
Some areas of the shower, especially corners needed better cleaning.
Restaurant is good with nice local and western style food.
