Donot go by the tariff, this hotel has lower standards than railway station lodgesof tier 3 cities

Booked this hotel online going by the photos and above average rating by fellow travelers. We booked 2 twin sharing rooms for 2 nights and here is our experience:
Pros:
Breakfast is great. They take time to serve but the breakfast is worth the wait.
Hot water was available round the clock in both the rooms we booked.
Cons:
Shockingly filthy bath rooms. Photos attached. I judge a hotel by the bathroom and this one was not even upto Sulabh Sauchalay standards. Please take a look at the photo upload.
The reputed travel site which I used to book the hotel defaulted the payment to "pay at hotel" which meant that I had to pay the tariff at the hotel using the same credit card that was verified online during booking. But surprisingly the hotel does not have a card machine or is not functional. Had to pay the entire tariff in cash and the reception does not have the necessary change. So paid more than in the voucher since the hotel that pretends to take card payments does not have cash to settle the balance.
Bed linens are dirty and torn. One of the two rooms we booked did not have bath towels and the other no toiletry soap and water. Walls are pealing paint.
Windows do not open so it is suffocating damp feel to all the rooms.
People at the reception (both shifts) speak very little hindi or english. So language is a problem if you are non-tamilian.
We arrived at night around 10PM. The old man at the gate would not open the gate to let our car in in-spite of explaining we have booking. Language was not the problem since he spoke Kannada and Hindi. Probably they o not get guests at that time of the day.
The watch man has high tipping standards and would not let us go without tipping less than 100 during checkout. The total hafta the watchman extracted out of us was 150, out of which 50 was at checkin time. All this for carrying a small size stroller. So he not just ruined to spoil our checkin experience but also harassed us on checkout.
The hotel is close to the railway track. So every 1 hr the silence would be broken by thundering train racing by. So do not expect any decent sleep here.
Good for Emergency stay

Stayed for 2 nights. In # 204 for one night and in #202 for the second. Room is ok; neat; clean sheets; toilet is functional with hot water- but AC did not function. Next morning, the Manager changed our room and AC was super cool! Balconies facing railway station are cosy! Morning was beautiful wth cool breeze ! This place is good for peaceful & laid back stay , without expecting too much! Also good for emergencies, when other hotels are full. Breakfast is complementary- for two; had to pay nominal fare for third person. Morning coffee is good! One of the oldest hotels. Next to Rly station. A kilometre from Temple!
good hotel

Staff are good and cooperative ,but with only one boy the service is delayed.food average.coffee not good.very near to railway station.transport is a problem.they arranged for cab for sight seeing.mani the driver cum owner is just professional.we do not get any information about the temples much.other wise he is ok.we feel the price is on the high side for cab as well as room rent.
Good hotel with less maintenance
VENKATASUBRAMAN... K on 31/12/2016 10:45
The hotel is good but less maintenance. The hotel location, appearance, building all are very good. but there is no maintenance in bath room fittings, water heater not working and AC not working. They are arranged to take bath in another room. If the three maintenace works will be done this hotel may be a perfect hotel. The staffs are kind and cooperating. Good location. Near by to Railway station and also walkable distance to Bus stand.
Horrible stay!!! Don't go

I am putting one star because there is no option for zero star. From the outside the hotel looks ok but
the services are really bad. We took 4 rooms and 2 extra beds for the group of 10. All the rooms were very dusty and 3 of us got badly infected and were coughing through out the night. There were also mosquitoes in all rooms. For the 2 extra beds the we prepaid, the manager said there is no procedure to provide blanket ,bedsheets and pillow. We were informed about it only after 1.5hrs after check in. It was already 11.30 night. We met the manager and then he pulled off used bedsheet pillows and blankets from an adjacent room , that too also for one extra bed.For the other extra bed we kept on asking for bed sheet and blanket and they provided us with a soiled bed cover. Are they expecting us to use it as sleeping bags??? The Ac was stinking. It smells rotten. From the fotos that were in the net the washroom was ok but it was worse that public toilet. We had to use one toilet which was comparatively ok . The person at the reception was rude and indifferent and we approached him 4 times for bedsheets and drinking water he didn't care about it and blamed the room boy. When we told him that we can't pay for the extra bed that we couldn't use , he told that he wouldn't do anything, asked us to "adjust " and if we have any further complaints go and complain.I won't recommend this hotel to anyone. Horrible experience .
