Good location, right near lake,, good landscape, but rooms poorly maintained

There are hardly any big resorts in kodai, most are small, but Green Acre is relatively spacious resort, have good spacious landscaping and has the advantage of facing the lake, so location is also good. (Most resorts in Kodai are in midst of city, and they are mostly just stand alone buildings with hardly any space)

But rooms we stayed were maintained very poorly, very small and stuffy rooms. Didn't have proper balcony. Surprisingly most resort in Kodai have small rooms and does not have balcony.

Wish the management take this resort more seriously and maintain it better, then they can definitely command higher rates also.

Very average hotel close to lake

Referring some negative reviews online , Myself and my family went to Green Lake View resort with minimum expectations and so ended with a not good not bad experience. Its an old property with a sprawling campus close to lake. The room which was allocated to us was old with broken door latches , moderately clean beds. Overall an okay room. Every room has geyser and so hot water anytime will not be a problem. Car parking also good as its a huge campus. The place is managed by one elderly and one mid aged gentlemen who are not concerned about customer reviews and word of mouth and also social media feedbacks. The real saving grace for the place is the young team of room service boys and restaurant staffs who responds to our requests with smiling face and ensures our comfort maximum possible with whatever limited facilities they have. Special mention also has to be given to the alert gate security person who was there at the time of our visit. The kids play area also is partially damaged and resonable maintained.The price fixed for the rooms are too high if booked directly. Consider this place if you are okay with a moderately clean place close to lake and also if you get good discounts through travel websites.

Visited to kodaikanal in month of February 2015 and some how because of greenery and other things we could not stop us by staying there. but that's how it started, major problem we found is the language problem, people does not understand English even we tried to make them understand but no luck. one of my friend tried explain them in local language but no luck. for single order e.g. tea we had to call them 4-5 times. when we reached there we told them that will have dinner here, but at around 9:00 PM when we tried reaching them first over phone and when we visited to kitchen we found it closed already. now imagine on such a small place if no food is available how you will survive specially if you are with family and small kids are with you. second day manager ensure us that this will not repeat so we continued for one more day and seriously that was our greatest mistake. so overall i must say please please avoid stay there.

Very Very bad Resort

I have not seen such a worst resort in my life.No proper maintenance,no hot water,both rooms are not in good condition,no room cleaning.Green acres resort manager only talks,but he will never do the needful to you.My request is to don't choose green Acres by seeing the pics in the site(any site) .there is no co-relation between images and the reality.Poorest of the poorest resort.If you want to get a proper food you have to go minimum 1 km.Resort food is very poor quality. In the site they will mention they have Wi-Fi,but you will never get the phone signals it self.in that case how you will get Wi-Fi.TV in room that is another tragedy.There is no cable connection to the TV.No room heaters.Bed sheets and beds are too dirty.After reading this also if you choose this resort that's your biggest mistake.God only will helps you.

Worst experience ever

The below review is not just my experience, this was the story with almost all the guest staying at that time. we interacted with other guests and everyone was equally disappointed.

We booked this place from goibibo website for 3 days,when we arrived at the resort, The property was good but the room shown to us were pathetic, roof was falling, beds were full of dust and even public toilets are better than the the one available.

When we told the manager that this is not what we paid for, the manager told us that those were the only rooms available,After fighting for almost 2 hrs and calls from goibibo we were given other rooms.

The condition of the upgraded rooms was no different, but we didn't had any other option since we went kodaikanal in peak season. in next 3 days we had to face following issues:
1. Hot water supply will be on from 6am to 9:30 am
2. No room service, no once came to our room for cleaning for 3 days.
3. Breakfast is the worst part, you will be served only with poori chole for which you have to wait for almost 1-2 hrs (No buffet, one person will be serving you one poori at a time, so if you are a group of 4 only one can eat at a time).
4.The beds are not at all comfortable.
5. you cannot order food or coffee at your room since there will be no one at reception to take your call
6. if you are traveling with kids make sure that you carry milk for your kids as they will not be giving any thing.

Please avoid booking this resort. these guys ruined our holiday. you can find much better accommodation in kodaikanal with less money
