This is a budget Motel, and for those with bigger families who appreciate a reasonable price over nicer surroundings, then this place could work for you. If you are not a budget traveler this place is towards the bottom end off accommodation scale, The rooms are a reasonable size, and the heaters worked, there was a lot that didn't work properly in our room, but I suppose we got what we paid for

Worst place we have ever stayed. We booked a family room with a spa, when we were given our room key we went to our room only to discover the dilapidated and disgusting area we were to stay. Half of the lights in our unit where blown and not replaced, the spa pool wasn't even installed properly and was half protruding out the top of the decking and it looked as though it's never been cleaned. The cutlery along with the cups and plates where dirty. The radiator heater was leaking water. The towels and face cloths were stained with big black marks. The walls had holes which had been roughly patched, our door to the unit had a large crack in it so you could see through to the outside. The people who own this business are the most unprofessional I have ever come across. I will be informing everybody I know about my experience at this place so as they don't waste their time and money here. I guess all I can say now is that I know what it's like to slum it after staying here.

We had a quiet, warm and cosy refurbished room No 16.on the end. Disappointing that we had no net curtains, as all the other units had net curtains, so we bought some as we were there for a week. Lovely private spa pool with booster bubbles. If any problems with the spas, the staff promptly repair them. Rooms are kitted out with the basics and very clean. The staff were very friendly and obliging to ensure that your stay was comfortable.
Avoid unit 4, we had that one for our first night, and the street light shines in.

Booked in with some friends. Our studio unit had no fridge, broken cupboards door and drawer. Door extremely hard to open from inside and out. Bed comfortable. Friends unit was terrible. Peeling wallpaper (it had been leaking), spa didnt work, dirty floor, wobbly toilet (thought I would fall off it). No smoke alarms, emergency door at back locked. Drawer in kitchen missing. Stains on carpet and ceiling from leaks. Would not recommend ANYBODY stay here. On the sign advertising outside it said superior rooms, the sign was rotting, and paint peeling. What would our overseas visitors think if they had stayed there, not a good impression for NZ.

On arriving at the motel, which we had stayed at previously and had no real problem we were disappointed to say the least. When we left last time which was around xmas we were shown a unit across the driveway that was more of a unit than the one we had been given upstairs above the office.
This time when we got the key to our room we straight away had a problem, looked in bathroom, found a half full spa pool, a surprise as we weren't told our room had one upon booking. So went to inquire about it at the same time as asking where the tv remote was as not in unit. "Oh spa pool doesn't work", no signs anywhere to advise this and were not told. Manager/receptionist said "oh I know where there is 2 I will get you one", which she did.
As the evening wore on found a lack of cutlery and crockery, the room slept 4 but definitely not enough cereal/soup bowls there and mismatched crockery. Found 4 lightbulbs in the unit not working, went and asked for one at least for the bathroom, "oh i will have to get one from down the road then i will bring it to you". This never happened , we ended up switching some around to give us the light where needed.
The wallpaper in places was lifting, the carpets dirty, the sofa worn with a hole in the fabric, mismatched linen, holes in the top comforter on the double bed, scuff marks on walls downstairs and upstairs. 2 of us staying and only 1 flannel, no bathmat and towels were well worn, the front door needed a lot of effort to open and shut and there was no way out getting out the back bathroom door if there was a fire, it was well and truly locked.
On looking at websites like this with reviews it appears the motel has been in this state for quite sometime with supposed upgrades happening, where im not sure.
All i can say is wont be back and had left a list of problems with the unit for the manager on our departure.
