It will take you about half an hour to reach this hotel from the Muscat airport. There is a (free) parking place to leave the car, but there is no shade. So make sure to protect the wheel and the seats with a cover.
The lobby is beautiful, featuring marble floors and a stained-glass roof. The reception is small and somewhat slow, but efficient and very friendly. They seem to be fluent in English. However, it took 20 minutes before we could get the key to our room.
We had to change the key three times before we got a functional card.
The room is big and very comfortable. Bed(s), night stands, two writing desks, an armchair, shoe cabinet and a wardrobe. It is parially covered with a carpet. Air-conditioning is fully functional and can be adjusted according to needs.
Toilet is either old (and that's OK) or neglected (a minus). There are stains on the tiles and the bathtub. Water temperature is difficult to set, and water pressure varies (admittedly, the latter is something that the hotel management cannot fix). If you are a female specie with long hair, you might experience some troubles drying your hair (a typical problem, observed in 90% of the hotels).
The breakfast is great. A lovely room, variety of delicious food: salads, milk, coffees, pastry...
Internet works perfectly, daily newspapers are delivered to your room every morning, and there is a fruit basket to welcome you.
A word of advice: leave your air-conditioning on. Otherwise the room gets to be quite humid, and this will be reflected on your hair and clothes (btw Muscat in general is really humid). Renting a car is recommended, Ruwi, being a business center, is somewhat far away from the city. Roads and streets are amazing.
Have a nice stay, Ruwi is an interesting part of the city with lots shops and restaurants.

It is my home away from home in Msucat. A bit old but has its own charm, centrally located yet peaceful. Good for families and people on business although travelers looking for a bar or a nightlife will be disappointed. This hotel works well for a person like me though. Staff is helpful and courteous. Has a Sarvana Bhavan right across it another plus point for me.

The external view is not very attractive. The reception is very helpfull.
The height of the rooms need to be improved. The rooms are cleane and bed is ok.
Internet is working without problem.
Hotel is ok for business if you need to be close to offices otherwise other locations better.

This hotel has an excellent restaurant (Samaharam), but a very tired decor. Though very clean, and with a friendly and helpful staff, the place needs updating badly. There is pleasure in the extensive use of local stone and marble, but the rooms are very mid-20th century at best, and would benefit tremendously by some modern touches. Food is very good anywhere in the hotel, and service is without reproach. I would race to come here again when in Oman, if only they would upgrade the rooms and lighting.
One downside is the seeming unavailability of non-smoking rooms, though, they do try to keep the odor controlled.

worth 5 stars, excellent rooms and restaurant for dinner and breakfast
extremely honest and friendly staff.
