What People are saying

End of Dec Stay - AMAZING

Terry S on 20/01/2017 19:46

Disclaimer: The staff may not be too terribly equipped for non-japanese speakers. However, I don't speak any Japanese and have never felt so welcomed anywhere. My mom doesn't even make me feel that welcomed when I go to visit her and I'm pretty sure she loves me.

Service: The service was fantastic. We had a staff member assigned to us ( group of 4). Her name was Kazuwe and she was a dream. She spoke a good amount of English and was extremely charming. Every time we needed anything or had any questions she was there to assist. The rest of the staff was also super sweet.

Room: The room we were staying in was pretty traditional. We slept on futons that were set up for us on the tatami mats. There was plenty of room for 4 of us.

Food: The food was spectacular and the best part was the car in visual and vocal presentation. Photos attached to my post.

Baths: The baths were kind of small but beautiful and clean

Massage: The massages were different and not terribly relaxing as it was happening but extremely effective. I felt so relaxed afterwards

Neighborhood: The town surrounding the ryokan is really nice. It's a cute little town that would have everything you'd need for you stay. It also has a decent amount of shopping around.

Excellent, out of my expectation.

A taxi has been arranged to pick us from train station to the ryokan, by time we arrived, hotel staff already waiting at entrance. Rumiko san who speak reasonable good English was appointed to give orientation and take care of us throughout the stay. She is very friendly and attentive, leading us to our room which is on the lowest level looking onto the river and bridge, very scenic. The room is nicely decorated, huge with one big and one small room, both with TV, a balcony and a big deep bath tub. Rumiko san started checking on our special request and even get our next destination address in case we left something behind. Our stay plan includes Kaisei dinner which we can choose from their menu (about 50 items), each item carry different point and each person can choose anything up to 100 points, and extra 1 point will costs 108 yen. We like the idea to go for our dish preference and end up me and my husband can taste more varieties of dishes instead of 2 identical sets. The ingredients are of high quality, taste is superb, the design of the restaurant is impressive and I was told it was by a designer from Kyoto famous in using Japanese washi paper.
Both the indoor and outdoor hot spring are nice with full facility and hardly crowded.
We checked out on Christmas day, we were asked to be seated and bill was brought to our table. A hotel staff start winding the Porter music box disc player, the Christmas song from that copper plated disc was distinctive sweet. After that a manager send us to train station.
I would highly recommend Hanamurasaki to any travelers, their service is excellent. Also I recommend a walk along the river, it is so peaceful, relaxing and the view is gorgeous.

This hotel is a definition of Professional and Excellent services

It was a rainy day. When our car was around the hotel entrance, the hostess and staff immediately came out to greet us with 2 big umbrellas. They wanted to make sure that we won't get wet when we got off the car. It made me feel so warm.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They even prepared a brief questionnaire about the preparation of our dinner and breakfast. E.g. what food u don't like or you might have the allergy, the time of dinner and breakfast, western or Japanese style breakfast. 5 mins before the dinner time, the staff came to our room again and picked us to the dining place.

The food is delicious and beautiful. A lady who took care of our stay was heartfelt. Some staff cannot understand English but they are still trying to communicate with us by body language in a polite way.

The room rate is more expensive than other hotel in the same area, but it is worth and everything is just more than i could expect. The environment is peaceful and relax. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends if they visit this place.

Expensive But Gorgeous

Arrived Kaga Onsen Statiion by ordinary train (fare JPY 760, time 45 minutes) from Kanazawa. Arranged with the hotel one day in advance for pick up. The drive to the hotel is approx. 20 minutes. Staffs holding umbrellas (raining at the time of arrival) escorted us to the lobby for check in. Credit card not required until check-out, which is a very rare practice. Room is beautiful and modern . Outside the large window is a small river or stream with a small waterfall and a bridge not far away. peaceful and beautiful. the butler assigned to us is a 23 year old trainee young man who can speak very good Mandarin and English (he studied Chinese for 6 months in Taiwan and also one year in Toronto work-holiday). However, all his introduction and explanation about the room and dinner/breakfast arrangement were in Japanese because his supervisor/master who speaks Japanese only is monitoring his performance. We spoke with him is Mandarin and some Japanese during dinner time as his supervisor/master was busying serving other guests). surprise that the hotel had so many guests at this time of the year 9it was Sunday night and snowing quite heavily). There is a welcome desert offered until 5PM Both the dinner and breakfast are very good and fulfilling. Like all onsen hotels, wines are more expensive than ordinary restaurants. surprised that there is no vending machine for drinks. Room service for a bottle of Coke is JPY 200 + 10% (US$1.85) which appears to be reasonable. the onsen itself is of good size. went there about mid night so it was like a private bath. Tried to take a walk into the small town and the scenic walkway the next morning. Hotel gave us rain boot and umbrella (free) but the weather was not good (rain and snow). All shops closed. Only one or two persons walking on the street. Road is slippery. So we gave up and returned to the hotel after 20 minutes of adventure. Check-out time is 12PM which is again very rare in Japan. tried to go to the onsen around 11AM and very disappointed that it was under maintenance and cleaning.(11AM-12PM). Was told by friends later that they went to the outside onsen which remained open (totally forgot abt the outside onsen, own mistake). took the 12:30 hotel shuttle to Kaga Onsen station to go back to Kanazawa. It is an expensive hotel (approx. JPY 50,000 per night for two persons incl dinner and breakfast) but everything is delicate, well managed, plus good view and good food. hopefully will come back in Spring or Fall

Excellent Hotel in my life of traveling!

Eric C on 24/12/2014 06:37

Kaga is already a nice place to travel to, it's a small town with peaceful and natural environment, I feel relax, retreat and relief there! and the first impression of this hotel is... Wow! Although the price is expensive, you feel it's worth for the whole experience! We drove to the hotel at around 5pm, the hostess and staff were waiting us at the main entrance. I asked where to park my car, they brought us umbrella and just let us offload from the car, they parked the car for us! We have to take off the shoes before we enter the reception of the hotel, that we just have to wear slippers throughout the whole stay in the hotel. There is not many rooms in this hotel, that's also a reason I chose this one, fewer guests there! The room is very big with Japanese decorations, the restaurant is very modern with privacy, every table is separated in an area. The dinner and breakfast included was great! The staff cannot speak English well, but they tried to explain and help us with courtesy and patient in a friendly way. There was a staff who took care of our stay, she is very nice and kind, overall the service in this hotel is more than excellent! When we checked out, we were seated and they chatted with us about our trip. And the car was ready outside the hotel, of course, the hostess and the staff farewell us in Japanese sincerest style! I absolutely recommend this hotel, that you can experience what is good service!
