What People are saying

No chance of Sleep!

Basic hotel that offers the basics.
Breakfast was ok room was ok but not great. The only real positive was the location which was walking distance from everything you needed.
The real downside though was the noise.
I stayed on a Thursday night and was given a room on the ground floor. On top of a night club although at times I thought my bed was in the night club.

All in all I guess I got what I paid for it was a well priced hotel for a reason.

Not for relaxation

Basic, very clean, staff were lovely. My room was very warm, which was perfect. Plenty of sockets, tea and coffee facilities.

Sunday night was fine, but Monday night even with the window shut I could hear the clubs down the street and the constant shouting of drunks from around 10pm until the small hours of the morning.

Perfect crash pad for a party weekend, wouldn’t stay again if needing rest.

Unimpressed

Needing a room in Dublin for business travel, I booked a room at the Harcourt Hotel. The reception area of the hotel was acceptable- not modern, but a fairly standard if dated one. The reception staff were friendly and professional. My room however was something from a 1990’s care home. Pastels, old fashioned furnishings, 2 single beds- both of which were basic and uncomfortable. Looking on a last minute app- I saw that the nearby Dean hotel had availability, for near what the Harcourt was charging. At this point I’d been in the room about 20 mins. Told the desk downstairs that I didn’t want the room, but couldn’t get a refund as I’d been inside the room. Fair enough- was worth the £110 I lost in expenses to stay somewhere comfortable and modern.

My personal opinion is that the Harcourt’s main business comes from one time tourist stays, not from repeat business. If you are backpacking and want a south of river upgrade from a hostel? Perhaps the Harcourt will be great. If you want to actually enjoy an atmosphere both in your room and in the wider hotel bar/restaurant? Look somewhere else.

Don't bother booking if you need to sleep

I thought I might have been able to ignore a bit of noise...I was wrong. Turns out the nightclub is in the same building. Music carried on until around 5am. Awful night's sleep. Other than that massive flaw, the hotel is okay.

good hotel

Nice hotel in a great location for heading out in Dublin. The rooms are spacious and very clean. breakfast is decent too. Check in and out was very easy. The staff were very informative about getting around Dublin. Very safe area. we had a lot of fun.
