Gem of a cheap hotel in a palace near the railway station.

This is a gem of a budget heritage hotel, but there's a reason why it's cheap. We stayed in the serviced apartments, spacious and delightfully cool thanks to the high ceiling palace architecture. Breakfast is served on the large lawn under an awning. There's a lovely big indoor pool. The food is excellent. It's a haven of peace after the craziness of the Jaipur traffic outside. It's a little run down but spotlessly clean and everything works including the WiFi
The hotel is centrally located near to the railway station, and it's a short cheap tuktuk ride to the tourist sights
So why such good value? Well, the mainline railway runs right alongside the palace garden, and there's a constant symphony of train horns day and night. The serviced apartments are located at the opposite end of the palace building and our room was surprisingly quiet. But I think this hotel would be way out of our budget without the trains, and after a few hours we hardly noticed them.
The beds have soft but not saggy mattresses and I slept like a baby. I would happily stay here again.
And the palace lawns are possibly the best place on earth for train spotters. Just sit out there with a cool drink and the trains will come to you! As well as parrots, swallows, buzzards, chipmunks and many many birds that I can't identify. I love this place.
Perfect Choice for Large Group Holidays

Hari Mahal is at a perfect location. Close to C-Scheme which means easy access to all the stores and dining places, coffee shops.
The property is spread out and does not feel like a hotel at all. You feel you are visiting a friend's house / farm house kind of things.
We booked 3 rooms so we took one of the apartments at the back. This comes with a common area complete with sofa, dining table and a small kitchen for quick tea & snacks.
Kids enjoyed playing in the big vernadah where there is ample seating for your morning / evening coffee sessions.
Breakfast is not very exciting. They have a live EGG station and a few daily essentials like the breads and poha etc... main dish keeps changing - Paratha / idli / bread pakoda etc. Enough to feed yourself, get out and enjoy a mid-morning snack at one of the quirky coffee shops of Jaipur.
We were happy to have made this choice for our holiday.
P.s one of the disturbing points is that the place is very close to the railway tracks so every few hours you will hear the loud train horn warning people to stay off the tracks when crossing the junction.
Horrible and really bad maintained.

This place is really different that what we expected . From outside the architecture is beautiful but when you get your room you realise everything is really dusty. Bed sheet are used and stained. It was not possible to sleep because of the railway closed by ( 2 trains per hours ). Even the breakfast is poor quality and the chef donât even have clean apron.
We booked for 2 nights but we left after the first one. The personnel didnât look surprise .
I would not recommend the swimming pool, wasnât look healthy to have a swim here !!

We booked 2 rooms in the new wing, Tirthraj, which I had no idea is an apartment where there are 3 rooms with living room and pantry as common area of use. its like renting a room of any 3 bedroom apartment. We were a family of 8 people with 3 kids and 5 adults, we initially booked 2 rooms but had to book the entire apartment as there would have no privacy if we shared the third room with another family. No where they have mentioned this in there website or any other online portal that rooms in the service apartment has common living area.
We were fine with this as we had the entire apartment for ourselves, of course with additional cost, but the reason I would suggest everyone to look for another property is for some totally bizarre reason the hotel would not give non-veg food in our stay package but was ready to give it on chargeable basis in room service. This was the first hotel to be doing so in my entire life span of travelling. i would have understood if the hotel serves only vegetarian food but serving it in room service and in a la carte menu but not in hotel stay packages is beyond my understanding.
look and feel of the hotel is old and worn-out with very limited options in dinner menu.
The heritage wing's front part badly needs a fresh quote.
Overall a very okay stay....one can find many better options in this price.
Wedding in a royal style ;)

We landed 4am in the morning to the Hari Mahal palace. We got the room in no time for first 2 day's we where staying in the service apartment. It felt like home away from home. Our apartment had 3 rooms with each room haveing attached bathroom, along with a living room and a pantry with basic utensil's & if you need anything can call the room service they are fast with service. Day 3 we shifted to the Heritage hotel rooms. Each room is designed in such a way which give's you the feeling of royal architecture the room but the passages also are well done. The property is well maintained and the staff is ready to help you.
