Lisbon Serviced Apartments - Bairro Alto
Apartment placed in Calçada do combro (Travessa do Judeu, 7), in the âBairro Altoâ and 5-10 minutes walking to âPraça Luis de Camoesâ. In fact it is at the boundary of the âBairro Altoâ not just in the middle of the Bairro Alto. And 20 minutes to the famous square âRossioâ.
Famous tram 28 has an stop very close (50 meters) to the apartment.
The apartment is well located to visit Lisbon, you can go to any place in Lisbon city centre within 20 minutes walking. It is an apartment renovated not longtime ago, so it is comfortable to spend some days.
My room was an studio with an small kitchenette and in the same room, the double room. To enter on the building you have a code and to enter on your room, you have other code. No person is on the building to help you in case of any need, only a âphoneâ at the entry to directly contact to the reception.
Nevertheless I am not happy with my booking.
When you visit a new visit it is good to have someone in the reception to give you some advices, recommendations, helps. Here you will not see anyone.
In addition, I book the hotel with Booking.com, because of I am âGenius clientâ, I have some extra services: In some case, some discounts, early check in and late check out (based on availability).
I asked to have early check in and late check out and the answer was âNOâ because of âno availabilityâ. As I made the check out a Sunday and I was wondering that was strange that no availability a Sunday. I made same checks in terms of availability, and some rooms were available before my booking and after my booking, therefore no possibility to do the early check in and late check out because of they do not want to allow doing it. So, it was not true to do some possibilities offered in Booking.com.
In terms of prices, price is changing a lot during last days. I booked with one price at the beginning but at the end, I changed my reservation and I booked with a 40% of discount. So, original price is expensive but acceptable if you take a good discount.
As summary, next time I will try other option.

perfect location. Nice and clean apartment. Easy to get in in the apartment with code and no keys. Perfect with daily service (cleaning the room). A lot of nice small place for breakfast The room was very clean and big. Bed was very comfortable and the location was perfect ! I definitely recommend this place for a nice and comfortable stay.

Pros:
-Very convenient location
-Nice size 2 bedroom apartment (even though we were only expecting a 1 bedroom)
-Reception was quick to respond to questions we had that we submitted directly via the app. They were on hand and wanting to make sure stay was pleasurable
-Fully finished kitchen
Cons:
-Most the photos on Booking.com must be there nicer apartments because the one we got were towards the end of their photo album.
-Our apartment was on the top floor (Floor 4 - Americans that means 5th) which was good for privacy but there is no lift (elevator).

After been sent the incorrect address 3 times we eventually found the apparently.
Size wise....awesome everything else left much to be desired.
NO SOAP! we were serviced 3 times and not once did we receive soap. Would have called to ask for it but the "24/7 virtual reception" did not exist! Tried to call to book taxi, ask for soap, and other tourism questions but with no luck. Emailed and had a response to booking a taxi to the airport when already in Paris!
Washing machine was a plus but with no power was difficult to use! One again, no reception to speak to!
The cleanliness could be improved as our feet and anything else that touched the floor were left dirty (to bad no soap to wash with!)
All in all I wouldn't stay here nor would I recommend to a friend! Could definitely find better!

The apartment was small but quite acceptable, Everything new and modern and worked ok. Since all the checking in and out is automatic, there are zero employees (!). Hassle free! Clean and well located. No noise from the Bairro Alto.
All went well. A bit pricey though.
