A quiet country house stay

This hotel is a historic home with grand proportions on beautifully maintained grounds. The rooms are spotless, large and well appointed. Lovely bathroom, with nice products. Breakfast is provided in a basket, including bread, jams, biscuits and fruit that can be consumed at any time. The hosts are friendly and dedicated to their home and hospitality. The house is a little out of town, (and don't follow GPS to get there - see the hosts instructions). The street to the hotel is very narrow, with no room for passing, and this can be a challenge if you aren't used to this sort of driving. All in all, this is a very pleasant country style stay, hosted by very nice attentive people, but note the out of town location and plan to take advantage of the grounds and the serenity.
What a fantastic house

Higher Faugan Parc is a lovely house full of history and so well maintained with love and soul. Douglas and his family are perfect hosts, they make every stay absolutely wonderful and special.
Breakfast is supplied in the room every day and everything is kept spotless and tidy. The gardens are fantastic as is the situation high above Penzance.
It's easy to imagine Stanhope Forbes working in this fantastic place and a special honour to be staying at the place where he lived and created his masterpieces.
Felt Like Home

Lodging in the former home of Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes held its own allure for staying at Higher Faugin Parc, however the real delight was the hosts and beauty of the property itself. Doug, Wendy and Luke have thought of absolutely everything one might need while away from home. Our room was bright, clean, nicely decorated and even had a view of the garden, pond and bay in the distance. We liked the freedom of eating a light breakfast in our room and then heading out for the day. The property is near Penzance, the Minack and other Cornwall treasures. Would stay again and highly recommend for a quiet, friendly place to stay.
Beautiful, quiet location and breakfast in your room

A beautiful well renovated manor house surrounded by well maintained gardens. The rooms are light and airy with clean modern bathroom. However because there is no restaurant or breakfast room food is eaten in the room. The small fridge was stocked with milk and orange juice, as well as yogurts and butter. There was a bowl of fruit, a basket of bread slices, croissants and various pastries in individual plastic wraps. Coffee, tea and jams were also set out in one area of the room with a toaster, kettle and coffee pot. The room felt a bit cramped with the bed, side tabes, wardrobe breakfast table, chairs and breakfast counter unless you enjoy breakfast in bed.
Doug the owner was very friendly giving us a lovely welcome to the house, suggestions for great dinner locations as well as place to visit in the area. We very much appreciated the local tip for places to park in the local village as well as the scenic roads to take.
As long as you don't require a cooked breakfast and dont mind breakfast in your room then this is really a lovely manor house to stay for clean, quiet and comfortable bed.

We were only there for one night, our room was double room which was smaller but beautifully decorated & had everything we needed. Our host Doug was so helpful with information on restaurants & what to do in the local area. The breakfast is a continental breakfast tray in your room. We would have loved to have stayed longer & explore more of Penzance. Di & Craig Australia
