We stayed at this property twice now--once in Nov 2016, and again in Jul 2017. My first stay was in room 707, which was a wide and spacious room providing a view towards the Campo Pequeno and Saldanha districts. The room was a little dated, but nothing bad by any means. Everything was still in pretty good shape, and I enjoyed all that the room and hotel had to offer. It was also very quiet since there was no road directly below the back end of the property. The food downstairs was pretty good in the evenings. I also must say the staff was really kind and courteous as well. I really enjoyed all this hotel had to offer, and we all really enjoyed this stay. Therefore, we opted to return next time we were in Lisbon.
The next stay was unfortunately not as fantastic as the first. My room the second time around was 810, this time facing the front of the building. As much as I love airplane spotting, TAP and SATA has lots of planes lining up to land right in front of the hotel, so it is much louder on that side. The room was also much more narrow due to the design of the building (front side has long skinny rooms where rear side has wide spacious rooms) and was much more worn down and less appealing. It was also very stuffy at night and I found it hard to sleep. Staff are still very nice and the food still tastes good, so that was a relief.
I just did not get the same sensational feeling I got when I came here the second time unfortunately, the folks traveling with me in the other room felt the same way. I still really like this property, and want to return one of the next times in Lisbon. However, I hope they can try to refurbish the rooms a bit more and work on some sound proofing for the front end rooms. I wish I could have reviewed my first stay right after I got back, but I have been unable to do so until now, and I think it is only fair to feature both. I hope to return, I just hope some changes are made if possible for next time.

We stayed for 5 nights and had a very comfortable stay including a nice daily buffet breakfast in the lower ground floor restaurant area.Hotel is located a bit far from the main attractions but with Uber readily available this was not a problem and we found to be good value.

I checked out 30 mins after checking in. The room was dirty and smelled. There was stains everywhere even on the couch. The room looked old and run down. I asked for my room to changed, same issue. When checking out i was told i couldn't get a refund. The manager gave me the general managers email to make a formal complaint. I couldn't believe this. Out of all the hotels I have stayed in this is the worst.

Holiday Inn Continental is outside the periphery of Lisbon's center. Due to the fact that the city's metro us unreliable, the location becomes an issue for first-time travellers to this wonderful city. That being said and dispatched, our experience at the hotel was very positive. Our room was nice and cozy and the beds were very comfortable. There was quite some space for our stuff considering the fact that we were 3 in the room. The bathroom was quite big and had a classic bidet. Unfortunately, the shower's "half enclosure" made it a little difficult to keep the bathroom floor dry. We also looked forward to mornings for breakfast. Good and varied buffet spread catered to various tastes. Wifi was reliable in practically all areas of the hotel. Back to location: Uber is quite cheap in Lisbon and for a group of travellers, this is the best alternative to public transport (sometimes even cheaper). The hotel though has a permanent taxi line just outside the lobby so getting around should not really be a problem.
