What People are saying

Not amused.

Elwood F on 13/10/2016 15:18

I'll start with the negatives that should be addressed by the owners.
1. I managed to get bleach stains on my brand new trousers using the kitchen, they use thick toilet/floor bleach, with 24hr action to wipe down the sides. Hence few hours after cleaning, if you are unlucky you will mop up some left over residue leaning on the side. The trousers cost more than my stay, false economy.
2. Wifi only works on the ground floor, they have repeaters but they don't work. If you sit in the kitchen, the only place with a table to use your laptop on, then it is incredibly slow. So more specifically if you want to catch up with your favourite TV show or download an important file, the only place is the common room where people are already watching Polish TV. I stayed here for four nights and told them about this every single day to no avail.
3. Beds are uncomfortable and made of metal, they make a huge amount of noise with the tiniest movement. Which being uncomfortable, you want to do nearly continuously.
4. There is not enough hot water to go around. First night I had a very cold shower. Second day I got in early, had a warm shower. Presumably someone had already had the hot shower of the day. Presumably someone after me had the cold shower.
5. The kitchen is closed from 12:00 - 15:00, so if you get up late, go out to buy some food, by the time you come back you will have to wait three hours before you can eat it, no eating in the rooms or the common room, dining room (adjacent to the kitchen) only, which is behind the locked kitchen door.
6. Back to the showers, they have some kind of home made base, this uses triangle tiles at an angle. It is incredibly slippy. In the end you stand on the small metal drain in the middle with one foot, and just hope to god you don't fall over and hurt yourself.
7. A significant number of the electric plugs in the downstairs area have become detached from the walls, and are held on by the wires. Most of the rest are just one tug of the plug chord away from being in the same state.
8. I got two small bleach stains on the front of my new trousers whilst using the kitchen. They use it to clean everywhere, I don't mind the swimming pool like smell but I'm sad about my trousers.

Things that were bad but weren't really the fault of the people running it:
1. Someone ate some of my food out of the fridge, not cool.
2. One of the guys in our room snored at an absolutely astounding volume, we aren't talking loud enough to keep you awake, we are talking loud enough to quickly give you a headache and wish for the pleasant sound of someone drilling into concrete.

Positives:
1.The hostel receptionists spoke basic English.
2. It's created a base line for judging everything else.

Good place to stay

Nice, clean, quiet new hostel. We stayed with my boyfriend in a room with 2 bunk beds, luckily for us because it was not in the middle of summer and the busy season, we were there alone, so it was very comfortable, and quiet cheap too. I appreciated the kitchen and patio.

Middle class hostel

Gabyvanabeelen on 16/08/2016 11:08

Some good things, some bad things! Double bed in the most expensive room was horrible: wooden planks with thin matress. Painfull! Water in shower does not flow away. Breakfast is good enough, grab as much as you want. location little far from centre. Public transport connects quite good.

Hostel Krokodyl - A great frist experience!

Kate M on 24/08/2015 23:46

We had just flown into Warsaw and this being our first hostel / shared room experience we weren't sure what to expect. The staff was helpful and courteous and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and tidy. We particularly liked the proximity to the markets and central tram station as well as their outdoor patio/deck in the back. Oh and the guy we bunked with appeared one night upon our return from dinner, was sleeping and literally didn't make a peep!
We would choose Hostel Krokodyl again!

Clean and nice

Tomas B on 27/07/2015 12:33

The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. I was staying in the sorm with 4 beds. The bathrooms are also clean and fresh!

It is close to cheap food. Kebab 20 PLN. And close to metro that will take you to city center for 3 PLN.
