Appalling - the six of us could not believe a hotel as bad as this could still exist! It looks like a factory building, the staff are really grumpy and it is run like a cross between an old-fashioned Butlin's and a Prison camp - checking in was a lot of grief, the rooms are basic, the decor barren, the bar doesn't open until 7.30pm (or ten minutes later on our visit), and they serve you reluctantly. Then the evening meal begins at 8.30pm and is in steel trays like a canteen with little choice and more grumpy staff, including the exceptional waiter who thought we we were looking at his waitress girlfriend and threatened us! (We weren't, but we were laughing about the appalling food and service standards..). The wine choice is limited to one red or one white, both poor quality. In a country that boasts Rioja!!! A hotel to be avoided unless you are a masochist. but amazing that it hasn't gone bust yet, though I think it will not be long....(it doesn't even have the decency to be cheap.)

We just spent a weekend with my wife's family at this Spa Hotel, in the catalan countryside. We used a boxed gift which included 2 nights, one dinner and a Spa circuit.
Overall the stay was enjoyable. This hotel has most of the ingredients to provide a charming and relaxing stay within a privileged natural environment. It is well located for cultural tourism close to the most important historic monasteries in Catalonia. Furthermore it is surrounded by trails and forests for nature lovers, and far away from any urban centre.
Nevertheless, it suffers as often occurs in catalonia of "star upscaling". For an international standard I would rate this place a 3* rather than a 4*. Rooms are basic with all expected amenities for a 3* but nothing more, they lack any charm.
Furthermore as some people have mentioned the room size is not consistent, therefore rooms rated on the same class will vary a lot. This is disappointing as it makes you feel like you are treated worse than other guests.
Finally, as some people have noted, the service needs to improve. I can only assume that the low quality of the service provided by the staff is more a consequence of their lack of experience (probably they are not used to treating with tourism this being an isolated countryside region). Among other things:
1. No bowls provided for breakfast even if cereal is available: when asked the answer was "use a glass or a plate"
2. No AMEX accepted (in a hotel?! seriously?)
3. Mishap at checkout on the fact that our spa should have been included and thus not charged --> this sort of thing should have been caught and would have saved me 10 minutes at the front desk.
Overall I would not rate this place as bad, it is just that the level of service needs to be polished in order to reach a true international 4* level. Otherwise they should advertise as a 3*.
However this place has potential so I will probably be coming back in some years in order to check if the needed improvement has occurred.

This was our first visit to a "spa" and we were very impressed.Although the hotel was
full (87 rooms) we never had the sensation that it was crowded.There was always a
quiet space to be found.
The rooms are comfortable and the dining room is spacious.All the staff were exteremly
helpful.There is adequate parking around the hotel.
We were given a most interesting talk and guided visit by Josep Vilanova who is the
owner of the hotel.
The surroundings of the "balneari" are very picturesque and we visited a couple of
delightful villages.
My wife and I will certainly go there again and I would recommend this hotel.

The very good: the price if you book with a website. Fairly good if you pay the hotel directly for two double rooms; they estimated 70 euros per night per person including buffet breakfast and spa/pool facilities. The hotel does is clueless when it comes to pampering guests. This is a spa, boasting a special alkaline mineral water. We were there for two night, and there wasn't even a welcome bottle in the room. I found out later they had them in the mini-bar, and you had to pay for it. At the spa you have to pay for a bathrobe (!) even though you've paid for the spa privilege, and a cap is required. I didn't see any brochures in the room about the spa or its requirements. In the spa there are 10 lockers total in the ladies' room, and they were all in use. One hairdryer that overheated and broke. One chair. In the pool area ten huge loungers, all taken by people's towels and that was it! The spa is not suitable for the disabled at all, though we managed to muddle through. The hotel and spa are new and clean but looks like they were done on a budget. Oh and the food......don't get me started.

We stayed in this hotel 7 days.
1. The price was 550 euros for one room/ 2 adults and 1 child 4 years old.
As we were 6 persons, we had ordered 2 rooms for the same price, but when we entered inside of the rooms, they were different-one was larger when another one...*and they were completely different from the picture of the site...so it was a bad surprise.
2. No service to bring our luggage to our room...even receptionistse didnt propose.
3. Internet/WIFI was very slow and it was impossible to open Google or another programse/ I couldn't check my mails and orders of my web-site....so out of work and web entertainment.
4. The shower is not closed, so I cleaned the floor every day, because all the water I used it was down...it was like a river inside, not very comfortable.
5. On the web-site of the hotel is written that they accept the dogs, but when you arrive, so they tell you can't go with your dog inside of the restaurant, not near the swimming pool...so it wasn't very conformable, as we had a small dog, each time you are supposed to bring it to the room and to let alone.
6. The restaurant inside of the hotel is like cantine, but the prices are very high.we were disappointed, not a large choice of plates and not tasty...the bread is like polyester here, and no fresh juice, no fresh milk products, etc
7. Nothing prepared for children-I mean it's missing books or small swimming pool, garden or games. My daughter was boring here.
8. Jacuzzi and massage very expensive here. Massagiste not very professional.
9. The water of the swimming pool is smelling hard, full of chlore, and after 2 days I had allergy and skin problems... This is awfull.
The smell of chlore you feel even when you enter inside of the hotel, this chlore you feel everywhere...
10. The water they are selling 7 euros/pack you can find in themountainss for free...the advice is to take bottless with you.
11. The rent of the bicycle is 30 euros /day for one person. Very expensive!
12. The information in the hotel is just written in Catalan. No other languages and the receptioniste doesn't speak English or french...Shame on her!
13. The final price was 1 300 euros...very expensive for this hotel/this place/
Nothing to visit, bad cooking, no pleasure.
P.S. Only the women who were cleaning the rooms were very nice and attentive.
