What People are saying

Astonishing!

The moment we walked into the reception we fell in love with Bhairon Vilas.

The taciturn guy on the desk quickly won us over when he offered us a free upgrade from our economy room to one of the palatial ground-floor suites. The room, and that of our sons who arrived later, was a set-decorator's fantasy. The extraordinary high ceiling with it's propellor-sized fan would be amazing in summer. The decor (Biba meets colonial kitch) has to be seen to be believed and is a testament to the owners twenty years gradually refurbishing his ancestral home.

The first day we were the only guests, which only added to the surreal experience as we explored the labyrinthine passages and staircases and marvelled at the bonkers interiors. That evening the kitchen produced an authentic Rajasthani dinner that was one of the standout meals of our entire tour and one our final night there was a set menu that was its equal. Breakfast was a bit of a let-down y comparison.

Unfortunately it was too cold to swim in the pool or make the most of the loungers, but we made up for this with potently rejuvenating drinks in the bar (think opium den meets hunting lodge). There is a lovely little coffee shop run by Ann who makes exquisite cakes and also runs a very tasteful and affordable boutique.

This has to be experienced to be believed!

Poor behaviour and services by staff

I booked for two nights at this hotel. The person who serves the breakfast is a totally lazy person and doesn't know how to handle the guests. We were there for two nights and he simple denied to provide the food in sufficient quantity to us. He said, he can only provide either "Parantha" and that too only in two quantity (which are very small in size) OR he can provide "half plate of POHA" per person. We requested him that please provide us at least some sufficient quantity food; he said - "NO SIR ... IT'S NOT POSSIBLE ... WE WILL NOT PROVIDE YOU THE FOOD MORE THAN THIS" Am not able to understand that why the actual owner of this property is failed to notice this biggest blunder which this "RASOIYA" (the so called Chef) is doing while servicing to the guests. The images you see of this hotel appear reasonably charming, it is however, a run down and rather shabby place with pretty indifferent service. So in my opinion - it's worthless to stay there and never book a single room at all in this property till this RASOIYA is there.

Faulty Towers experience

I booked for two nights at this hotel. When I arrived and couldn't find anyone. After about 15 minutes a disinterested fellow checked me in and after another 15 or so minute another man took my bags to a pokey, dark little room at the top of some stairs. The room was airless and claustrophobic. I asked to see another room and was told they had one more available if I didn't mind climbing some stairs. The next room was on the roof level. It was a big enough room, but the bathroom was unusable. I again returned to reception and told them that I was not going to proceed with the booking. At that stage, I was shown to a big ground floor room with a renovated bathroom. The room itself was comfortable enough, however nothing worked. Once the fan was mistakingly turned on, it would not turn off, the television was on the blink and the shower was faulty. Needless to say, I found alternative accommodation for the following night. The images you see of this hotel appear reasonably charming, it is however, a run down and rather shabby place with pretty indifferent service.

A wonderful stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bhairon. The rooms are lavish, the service impeccable and the food delicious. The owner has refurnished it mostly himself, and obvious care has been taken to maintain a facade of the old style. Not to mention it does still have odd quirky little charms, the little bar downstairs, and a beautiful little coffee shop with home bakes. Lovely to see an old Haveli maintained

A Beautiful Sanctuary

We stopped in for snacks & a few drinks. It was an impressive building that has been showed some genuine restorations & care by the owner.
A great place to stop in for a drink & relax just inside off the street!
