The rooms aren't too big but I do appreciate Jaya (receptionist) who was very approachable and did help me change to a more comfortable and secure room. The place is built from an old home so you will feel the heritage restored which is a great choice.
It's a pleasant scene and definitely in the local area so commuting is pretty easy. The stay there is secure and a simple breakfast to begin the day!
Advice to female solo travellers> This area had wine shops around and you might come off unpleasant scenes please be wary.

This hotel is really charming.
I would not recommend staying right on the beach in Pondicherry as it is very busy and really not that charming. The Coramandel Heritage is located right on the edge of 'French Pondi' and 'Tamil Pondi' which means you can easily walk to the beach and tourist shops or restaurants. It also means that you can explore and eat in the great Tamil restaurants close to the hotel. This area is great exploring.
The hotel is beautifully maintained and has a great breakfast/sitting room and fair size bedrooms. There are also a couple of upper level decks for sitting outside and reading. Breakfast was quick and tasty.
The owners/managers here are superb. They assisted us with good spots to eat and to visit. They are knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a driver with us, and although there were no driver rooms for him, they were very open to him using a couch and all of the bath facilities.

I stayed at Hotel Coramandal 4 nights and liked it. You will also if you like living in an old historic building with a very friendly and smiling staff around you.
The colonial charm is most present in the common areas of hotel Coramandal the rooms being kind of basic.
The breakfast is good and continental. The WiFi is at an okay speed.
Your room will not be cleaned every day but every other day.
The location is good. In white town. Walking distance to the promenade.
A Catholic Church just around the corner and the Sunday market nearby also.

Never felt so welcome and comfortable in a hotel before. My single room was really cute, with heritage furniture.
WIFI was really fast!
Breakfast was great and staff had great advice and was always up for a chat. Thanks Jaya, take care!!

Stayed on 6th Sep'17 as a walk-in customer. The property is well-maintained and location is awesome. The market/ restaurant (Surguru/ Xtasi) is just 5min. walk away. Will definitely recommend to every segment of travellers.
