Fantastic hotel. It's the closest sensation to feel the sense of standing in a palace. The decoration is amazing, the rooms so cozy and the restaurant simply memorable. The fact that the building is on the edge of the citadel wall gives it an additional incentive.

You're staying in the walls of a castle in a beautifully restored building. What's not to like! The service is impeccable! The food was a mouthful of heaven with each bite. We visited the barbacane for lunch and dinner. For lunch we had the 39 euro menu which was very reasonable incl 2 glasses of wine and coffee...heads above the Comte Roger where we had lunch for a not too dissimilar price the day before! We did try the 150 euro tasting menu and if you have the chance do give it a try it was worth every penny. On both occasions the experience was perfect. As we love our food this added an extra sparkle to the stay. The cocktails before dinner were beautifully made and delicious! Having had a cold the bar tender noticed and made me hot toddy at the end of the evening to see if it would help...just incredibly thoughtful and discreet service. Our room was magnificent, beautifully decorated and with an incredible view. Given I was unwell for the start of the holiday the room truly came as a god send with all expected home comforts. This was our anniversary and the hotel had even taken the time to write us a card and leave us a gift. Again very thoughtful.
A couple things they could work on - A seasonal problem but the bar area is quite chilly in the daytime. In the evening they have a lovely fire though which is stunning. The check in time of 4 was maybe a little late but kudos to the hotel who did there best to turn the room around asap for us as we arrived at 11 from the airport. Last small observation would be the Nespresso coffee and cup of tea (with a lovely tea bag but a tea bag) in the bar at 6 euros each a cup felt a touch excessive.
All in all its a fabulous hotel to visit!

What a wonderful hotel! It is a true representation of the brand - everything from staff at the reception to the finishings in the rooms is perfection. The location, of course, creates a very special atmosphere, and that alone is something very unique.
The rooms are phenomenal, we had a little terrace with a view over Carcassonne - very impressive.
Highly recommend the hotel restaurant, the chef's menu is something very special.

Spent a couple of nights at the hotel in the course of a driving trip around this part of France. Hands down the most impressive place to stay within the ramparts of Carcassonne with easy walking distance to local attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel guests exclusive parking with a shuttle to the hotel proper. Spacious room, excellent breakfast buffet. Lots of history.

Visited today with friends. I have to say that this is a beautiful hotel and the staff are so welcoming and fairly attentive. Nevertheless, the coffee was tepid and the hot chocolate was just poorly mixed (blobs of unmixed chocolate still on the side of the cup). The thing is that we wouldn't have minded but each Capachino and chocolate is 6 euros! We live near by and want to visit again but prices must reflect quality even en France!
