Stayed here for 4 nights for a short break hotel nice and clean, staff were friendly, room was basic but ideal for the time we were there, bed a bit on the hard side, pool area was nice and quiet, went to the sky bar the drinks were a bit more expensive than the restaurants in the area.
More like a Hostel

We booked this break rather last minute and it was a cheap break away. The room was clean and the bed as mentioned in previous reviews was like a slab of concrete! Bathroom was tiny but adequate. Sky bar is overpriced and if the views weren't so beautiful I would say avoid it, we had cocktails on our first night, paid the bill then the following night we were told that we hadn't paid enough the first night so needed to pay again, needless to say we didn't return! Hotel receptionist is very pleasant and helpful although there is often no one around but a note on the desk saying back in 10 minutes - I waited over 20 minutes and gave up, this was at 7 pm.

Stayed 4 nights ; lovely little well priced hotel , feels like yesteryear transported into modern day . White stone, basic, clean, simple natural furnishings , no -fuss and great value BUT I must add NOISY ! Sadly the hip (trying to create Ibiza vibe) Sky Bar spoilt a peaceful break . My lovely white room with side harbour view suited me perfectly (on my own) but was above the bar area ,and though the music was supposed to finish at 12 , it went on way after with chairs scraping as staff cleared the deck. In the daytime , it was bliss (and empty) but if you want an early night , ask for a room way away from the bar !
The pool area is heavenly, a bit Zen ,and that was my retreat, again it is very simply fitted out (no bar service as mentioned on line) . Porto Petro is quaint and a bit off the general track with good restaurants ,old style Majorca yet near enough to Palma for more action , just an hours drive away .
Great value in porto petro

It was a bit if a last minute holiday and we looked for something cheap, couple of hours plane journey away and adults only if we could. Hotel varadero fits it all, yes it is a basic hotel with minimal furnishing in the rooms. Beds were firm but we didn't mind that, the wardrobe just a rail and a couple of shelves, the bathroom was small and cramped, fine for slimmer guests, the shower was excellent very powerful. We had a little balcony where we could watch the sunrise and see the harbour. Cleaners were great coming in 5 times a week and keeping the room tidy and the whole hotel it was very clean everywhere. All the staff were helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
Breakfast was a wide variety of cereal, yoghurt, meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage.
Help yourself coffee machine for your hot drinks and cold fruit juices.
The area is nice and quiet with plenty of good resturants a marina to look around and some good walks as long to the rocks. Walking to cala dor for more resturants took us 30 minutes and there is a bus timetable from reception.
Thanks to all the staff at the Varadero for a lovely stay.
Love clean hotel in excellent location within a stunning setting

Stayed here on 4th September for 4 nights with my girlfriend. The room was lovely and clean and had a gorgeous view of the harbor/marina from the window. Everything in the room worked as it should and cannot be faulted but remember it is very simplistic but had everything we needed. The mattress was as many have said a little hard, but we still found that very comfortable indeed. Shower was amazing!
8 EUR a cocktail in the Sky Bar but well worth the money. Some of the best we have had. 2.5 EUR a beer. Not bad at all. Didnt eat in the hotel as we were room only but heard good reviews. Hotel reception staff were lovely. Couldnt do enough for us. Helped with recommendations for excursions and places to eat. Palma is approx 50 mins away and Cala D'Or is 5/10 mins away by car. Cala D'Or was approx 6 EUR in a taxi.
Hotel is situated in Porto Petro. It is an amazing little village with a few shops, 2 supermarkets, some bars, some really good restaurants a breath taking beach and a stunning marina. Perfect location for a romantic couples holiday!!!
If I decide to come back to Mallorca, I wouldnt go to any other hotel.
