The hotel is not enough clean but the staff is very kind and helpful. Location is good. Quiet, close to the sea and public transport is not far away. Near hop on hop off buses. Good restaurants around.

I stayed here in June and had a nice trip. Nice hotel and good location on the beach, close to convention center.
However, they called me at 1:30AM last night to ask a stupid question about a VAT number which I don't have since I don't live in Europe. They even admitted they knew it was 1:30AM time in the message. Why they didn't call at a more reasonable time is a mystery.
Unfortunately this taints my view of my trip and will affect my hotel choice on my visits to Barcelona in 2018.

We had and enjoyable long weekend at Hotel front Maritim. The hotel is located on the main road along the sea front and just a short walk over the dual carriageway puts you on a lovely sandy beach and close to a couple of beach bars.
The public areas were well appointed and kept clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room had a shower, hair dryer, TV, tea/coffee making facilities. The maid visited every day so the room was kept clean and tidy.
The buffet breakfast was ample. The only gripe I have was that the coffee machines were very slow so there was always a huge queue for coffee unless you arrived very early for breakfast. This wasn't helped by some of the guests routinely stopping to chat next to the coffee machines making it hard for all the other guests to move between their tables and the buffet area.
Although this hotel is a good 3 miles or more from the centre of Barcelona. However this was not a problem as there is a Metro station less than five minutes walk away and a bus stop just a couple of hundred yards away. Public transport is cheap and frequent so travelling around was never an issue.

Having booked this hotel for our 5 day trip, we weren't sure what to expect having read the numerous negative reviews on this site and wondered if we had made a big mistake.
However, we actually had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel although as someone earlier mentioned, it is basic for a 4* star hotel.
We took a taxi from the airport (around â¬37) and although we arrived an hour before check in, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful in checking us in and offered a cot for our baby too. The room was clean and tidy with complimentary refreshments and toiletries. There was also a kettle, TV (with limited channels), wardrobe with a safe and blankets. Housekeeping did a good job everyday and we didn't have any issues with cleanliness although a lack of ventilation in the bathroom means it did get quite stuffy at times.
Our stay included breakfast which offered a great selection of hot and cold food including eggs (boiled, fried and scrambled), beans, Spanish omelette, meats, cheese, fruit, a range of pastries, yoghurt, cereal, toast, fresh bread, fresh juice and a coffee machine. The staff were also good with replenishing and clearing away.
The location of the hotel was one of the best things about it, although not central there is a lovely beach right across from the hotel, metro station (Selva De Mar) and a shopping centre (Diagonal Mar) both around a 10 minute walk away. The shopping centre is great to pick up snacks, water etc at a good price and has a range of restaurants although if you want traditional cuisine there are a line of restaurants down from the hotel. We got a 2 day ticket for the tour bus to get a feel for the place which had a stop around the corner from the hotel (check times for the last bus to the hotel, we missed it and got lost finding our way back!) and throughly enjoyed the convenience and experience.
Overall, If you're looking for a luxury 4* hotel then this probably isn't for you but if you're after a hotel with a good location and service with friendly staff I would definitely recommend it.

The location is a little bit outside the main drag. I arrived late in the evening so there was not much choice in terms of places to eat locally. Still found a good place around the corner though. The hotel receptionist was welcoming. The hotel delivered what I wanted a good nights sleep in a comfy bed with a good sized bathroom.
Breakfast was a bit more challenging as an Asian tour group filled the hotel completely so not easy to find a table with long queues to find food. I assume that this is not a problem on an ordinary day in the hotel. All in all a hotel I would stay again
