Happy to declare that this hotel is still the best in Galicia and probably in Spain. I have been staying here for twenty years and it never disappoints - probably due to the excellence of the staff whether in the restaurant, cafeteria or reception.

How this place ever got a 4 star rating I will never know. It might have been considered decent in the 70s before people expected more than a room and a bed. Issues:
The room is very bare, outdated and 'functional' at best. There is no duvet but a scratchy blanket and sheets instead.
There was only one very thin and old bath towel.
There was very few toiletries and the shower gel was dispensed from a pump like in a public toilet.
The breakfast is the worst hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. It starts very late (0730!?) and has nothing of substance. A small selection of cold meats and cheeses from a supermarket, one choice of cereal and warm milk, bruised and ageing fruit and some boring bread. I left starving.
Dinner does not start until 1930. Choice in the restaurant is very basic and lacks imagination.
There is no gym, pool or desire facilities. How can a 4 star hotel have no gym?
The parking is ludicrously expensive and very difficult to find. It is not signposted and there is no where to stop and ask. The process for getting in and out of the car park is unnecessarily complicated and annoying.
Few of the staff speak even passable English so communication for tourists is frustrating.
The bill is presented in a complicated and illogical fashion which made it difficult to present for a work refund.
There must be better places in a town the size of Pontevedera.

Good deal on Elvoline for $AUD107/ night for a double excl bfast which was offered for â¬7.50... bit exy so we declined. Central hotel within easy walking distance to city square where families promenade at 1800 then tapas then have dinner.. great tapas bars very nearby. Besuriful shoe & clothes shops nearby. Very clean hotel. Quiet room on 3rd floor of this 4* hotel.. used by tour groups. On Camino route so no need to look for trail in the morning. Quick check in.. friendly staff. Lovely big bathroom.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It is located 15- 20 mins walk from the train station/bus station and a 10 min walk into the center. There are 2 laundromats close to the hotel and supermarkets. The location is ideal if you are going to use Pontevedra as a base for day trips. Pontevedra is a lovely city with really friendly people.
Everything was very nice about the hotel. The reception was warm and friendly. Super helpful with answering any questions we had with a smile. Amenities were normal fair and our room was very large (I think we got upgraded to a junior suite) and cleaned everyday. The hair dryer just ok. We did not have breakfast as there are plenty of places to have breakfast around.
Overall we were impressed by the hotel and Pontevedra and look forward to returning one day.

The hotel is quite central to walk to the town. There is now a lift outside the front entrance for wheelchairs.
The hotel rooms are spacious and a large shower has been installed. Very quiet for sleeping.
The breakfast was pathetic at a cost of 7.50⬠, Saturday we didn't even see any staff in the dining room. On Sunday as we had to leave early for an excursion we asked could we have a drink. We were told no?! What happened to 24hr room service? Wasn't too impressed by the hotel as it has a 4* rating.
