Suffices for a night's stopover

We had a stopover at Kolhapur on way to Mumbai. We got a good deal here for 3 of people. The place is adequate if you want to see the city for one night and are stopping over just to rest your back. Nothing luxurious, but everything is just adequate. The parking is a bit tricky and i would suggest them to keep a spare driver to help all cars maneuver in and out. The bfast was lower than average. I suggest if they are making one item for bfast, they should try to make it tastier. Overall we found it very convenient as it was very close to the highway and helped us when we had to get out of the city in the morning.
Nice stay and an excellent experience

Travelling to Goa from Pune. Took a break in kolhapur to visit Mahalaxmi temple. Booked the room through OYO and ended there around 8.00PM. It was India vs Bangladesh T20. We were 4 families travelling. Check-in was smooth handled by the nice and polite person. Rooms were very clean, bathroom well maintained. The room is big enough to put an extra bed for the kid. Service was very good and our demands were met with big smile. Since we are travelling to the Goa early next day, we requested for an early tea which they accepted to serve. The next day we had a smooth check-out and headed to Goa after a refreshing tea.
After our return from Goa, my 6yr old son found that he has missed his favorite toy in kolhapur. We called the hotel and mentioned the details of the stay and the room. They found the toy, it was a small blue teddy. Sent the address to courier without expectation. To our surpirse, we received the toy through courier. The joy we saw in our son's face on seeing the toy cannot be explained. Thanks Mr Praveen for the kind gesture. This will be our best memory of Kolhapur forever.
Good

Reception- check in was fast and comfortable.
Parking- not enough parking on the inside
Rooms- modern, neat and clean. Enough space to put an extra bed.
Toilet- a bit small, but clean
Food- average and was a little pricy.
Overall experience was good so will stay again.
Felt cheated.

We booked a room for a night through OYO. Stayed in room 305 from evening of 1st Jan 2016 to morning of 2nd Jan 2016. The rate was Rs.2599/- per night.
The location of the hotel is very far off from the city. Though they advertise as in front of Star Mall, it is not so. In fact it is in front of a railway track and the train siren can be heard in the room, really disturbing especially in the night.
Even though a mini fridge was mentioned in the amenities, the same was missing. Hot water is only available in the morning so had to skip bath after a long journey in the evening (water was chilling cold).
Also missing was a hot water kettle and tea and coffee sachets, which is basic in hotels in Kolhapur.
A foul stink was always emanating from the bathroom drain, and the exhaust could not help.
Though breakfast was part of the price, we had to skip it as it was not ready when we checked out of the hotel at 0800hrs on the 2nd of Jan 2016.
The receptionist asked me for a code which I recieved on my mobile. I gave it to him. I asked what it was for. He then told me it was for feedback. I then realised that he had filled the feedback himself and submitted it to OYO.
Not Up To The Mark

The hotel is not difficult to locate as it is situated near Railway gate. But it has (so called) parking space for only 1 sedan and MAYBE 1 hatchback.
The rooms in this so called 4-star hotel were very small with minimal thought given to utilities. The closet which did not boast any affluence was enough for only 1 traveller bag. The bathroom, although clean, gave you a feel of a budget hotel. There was no extra bed for the extra person that we paid for, but a mattress was laid down upon asking.
At night, the split AC kept on making loud noises at regular intervals which resembled as if someone is knocking at the door. Railway engine sirens will give you company all through the night as the hotel is adjacent to the tracks. I had a very sleepless night due to all these distractions.
We had opted for a CP plan so we dined in the restaurant which was quite below standards. The waiters looked blank in our faces when asked simple questions. An absence of courteousness was starkly evident in their body language. A sense of lethargy prevailed in everyone. The Indian dishes had continental taste, so to say, and the chinese manchurian had a home-made essence. We had to wait for 30 mins after ordering any dish which was disastrous.
The complimentary breakfast on the next morning was even worse. Upma and (cold) Idli Sambhar were the only choice which were not pre-served, but had to be ordered as per desire.
While checking out, we came to know that our rooms on the 3rd floor were recently renovated and the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor were even worse. We were 3 families who had to just stay overnight, so there wasn't a point in complaining, but I would never recommend this place.
