Wonderful View of Nainital..But required some maintenance.

The hotel is located on one end of mall road has beautiful view of the lake.Room no. C3 & C4 has the best view of Nainital mall road specially in night. ( which they provided us)
The hotel has its own parking but after stip and narrow slopes.(required skill to climb & park)The ambiance inside room gives you comfortable and cozy feeling of Royal chalets. Common balcony is attached to room which is best place to sit and enjoy hot coffee or tea in cold evening. However be careful of monkeys may snatch your valuables if left unattended at the balcony.
Only scope of improvement is required for maintenance of toilet. Though hot water always available but the fittings are in pathetic state.
Staff should be encourged to interact with customers. Staff at reception should be pleasant which is totaly missing.
Awesome location but needs improvement

Stayed in the deluxe lake facing room. Rooms are medium size and they are lake facing but the rooms need more upkeep and modernization especially toilets. some of the walls have damp patches and the furniture seems pretty old.Hotel needs to invest on these. Good part is the location (1 min walk from bus stand/mall road), the mini golf course which is free for boarders (my 10 year old daughter enjoyed it like anything) and nice views of the lake. Morning breakfast spread is also good. Service is also good.
Go for better option

We stayed here for 2N / 3D, rooms are very small, location is good but still go for Hotels situated in Mallital as it will be closer to Mall & Capitol cinema area. Another problem is rickshaws & taxis are not allowed from 6-8pm which makes you walk from Mall Road to Hotel Himalaya which is good 2km. Food is very average, complimentary breakfast is avoidable & menu is repeated daily.
Good Hotel to stay

Apart from parking on that steep alley to the hotel everything is near perfect. The panoramic view of the Naini lake, the minigolf setup, the breakfast, the rooms, everything and not to forget the staff. They were helpful and deserves a mention here. One of my favourite spots in Nainital.
Worst experience

Worst hotel experience ever. We stayed in this hotel for 2 days last week, the experience was awful. The service and staff of this hotel is the worst i have ever seen anywhere, the rooms are old , food is average, complimentary breakfast is very basic. Only positive was location of this hotel. All this for Rs. 5200/ per day including extra person in offseason time (December).
Quality of Hotel and Rooms : 2.5/5
Reason :
1.Old broken down rooms and hotel lobby.
2. No basic amenities provided in rooms like coffee maker or drinking water heater.
3. Steep climb from road to this hotel.
B. Staff & Service: 0/5
Reasons:
1. Rude and unprofessional behaviour of staffs . Will ignore you or look at u nonchalantly when you enter the hotel. If u ask for something they will give a rude reply.
2. No basic service provided in rooms...water to drink or providing new blankets next day.
3. But they will lineup shamelessly when u check out of the hotel and ask for tips.
One of them came upto us and asked for tips when we have already given tips to the other guy. SHAMELESS!!!!! :P
C. Location : 5/5. This is the only positive about this hotel, just next to Nainital Lake.
Bottomline : I will never book this hotel if I visit Nainital again because there are lot of other options. The owners and management should look into these issues seriously.
