Left me confused as some aspects were really good e.g. room cleanliness and breakfast whilst others like no segregation of smoking in restaurant or around pool really affected many people. The evening entertainment when it was on was terrible â think Spanish euro friendly hotels of early 1980s then think twice as bad. The room service on beer/water was great value and implemented seamlessly. Most disappointing was their attempt to âswingâ statistics in their favour by having customers fill in âreview formsâ on which the âlowest markâ was average!!! So not interested in honest feedback, only feedback which would make them look good. Might be back to the area but without the segregation I will not return to this hotel.

We returned as we enjoyed our last stay so much. We have noticed a couple of changes but they are positive. There are new waiters who are really helpful and considerate. The hotel is clean to a high standard and the room are basic but adequate and really clean. Thereâs not much more you can ask for. The cleaners are great and Robert is a real star he was so helpful great guy. The food is excellent and breakfast now has fresh omelets cooked to order. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. In fact you are made so welcome it is sad to go home. Well done guys great fantastic holiday

Loving our month here at this hotel. We have been coming here for years (since it opened its doors in fact) & just love everything about it - as do so many other repeat guests too! I'm not going to say this is a prestigious 5* hotel but the price reflects what it is - & i cannot fault it. I've just booked for 2019!

The Horizon is situated on a back street in Calangute -( we are there at the moment ) Staff really friendly as are most Goans we have come across - after a great day at the beach and a few beers in local bars we have for the last 2 nights eaten at the hotel, and we were not dissapointed the food was lovely and with 2 large bottles of kingfisher lager - starter - main and bread came to 1000 rupees - about £11 !! Rooms have all you need fridge kettle A/C (free) so all in all Brill. Anyway got to get back to my coffee on balcony.

Fantastic location, rooms adequate for a 2 week break, difficult to obtain a sunbed due to the early morning regulars brigade who run the sunbeds as a military exercise. The rooms around the pool are great for watching night time entertainment if you don't fancy sitting down at the bar, free wifi which is adequate for basic internet needs.
Bathrooms are all facilities are very basic, more a hostel rating in the Uk rather than a hotel rating.
Breakfast is limiyed choice of basic, toast, cerelas, eggs cooked as desired and fruit, they do offer a menu for lunch and dinner but we like to eat out so never tried any dishes to comment.
Well worth a visit if you like basic, being central and not bothered for staying around the pool.
There are newly built hotels just next door which we had a look at and are on appearance UK 4 star class and we would not hesitate to stay in their rooms on a further visit.
All in all had a nice, relaxing time at the Horizon, staff pleasant and accommodating if a problem arose but does tend to be returning guests who form large groups throughout the day and evening but this is a good point in knowing that guests visiting like to return!
