Superb Hotel in Barmer

After looking at a number of hotels in Barmer I decided on this one and wasn't sorry. Booked on MakeMyTrip, this hotel proved to be excellent value as it offers different classes of room and options for dinner/lunch inclusive.
Rooms - excellent. Everything is immaculately clean and works well. Hot water best in the morning and evening. I had a garden facing room which was quiet except on the night there was a wedding ceremony but music and noise ended promptly at about 10:45pm so no issues there. Tea and coffe with complimentary water are provided.
Restaurants - Both superb, the pure veg restaurant is highly reccomended, particularly for its bindi and paneer dishes. Good and varied breakfast spread and chefs are willing to accommodate more western palates.
Amenities - Wifi not the best, adequate for emails if you don't mind logging in regularly. This seems to be a bandwidth problem not uncommon in remoter places in India. Didn't use the pool but the hotel does have one. Bar - well stocked if a bit smoky - good range of beers. TV has a number of English language digital channels with a good choice of films so not too boring if you're stuck in your room. Laundry service good and efficient.
Chauhan and the team are all courteous and very helpful. They can arrange onward travel and day trips out by car through a network of local agents. These local agents aren't particularly cheap but not desperately expensive either. The location of the hotel isn't great for an evening stroll into the town, but is useful if you arrive by car.
On the whole a very highly reccomended hotel.
Great restaurant in good hotel, internet poor

Stayed in Kailash for 3 weeks whilst on work.
Some difficulty in organising the correct room because of refurb going on at the time. This also made it quite noisy. Once settled in a room it was nicely clean, good size, cleaned every day if wanted, good bathroom.
Restaurant without doubt the best part of the hotel. Many thanks to Kuldeep, the short happy waiter who's name we have sadly forgotten, and all the other restaurant staff who made our dinners like a home from home! Great chef. Bar staff also very friendly although the bar itself if very dark and smoky. Never went to buffet dinner but buffet breakfast varied and filling.
Wifi needs sorting out- have to use logins every 5-10mins which is very annoying. Also there was a 4 day spell where it didn't work at all. Reception in different parts of hotel variable. Very annoying for anyone on a business trip.
Reception staff tried their best but limited by lack of English.
Pool was great.
Great bar

The bar has reopened after Indian licensing law closed it for 6 months, great atmosphere and beer is cold, only downside is the cigarette smoking. Pandi is a superb barman. The hotel is upgrading all the rooms I stayed in an executive room 3rd floor facing courtyard, much quieter than rooms facing road.
