We had reserved a room for three people. When we came into the lobby my first impression was an old-fashioned hotel. We got our key for our room, only the room that we got wasn´t cleaned. So we got an other room, but it was not nice. On the pictures the rooms seemed very clean and beautiful. When we came in ou room the curtains were torn, the sheets weren´t white but yellow, the bathroom and the floor of the room were dirty. It was so bad that we went away to an other hotel.
Another annoying thing was the wifi, you had to pay â¬5,- for each device. Only on the first floor there was free-wifi.The other floors didn´t have wifi, if you wanted wifi you had to pay.
The only positive thing was the location, it was in the centre of Antwerp, so in a few minutes you were everywhere, If the room was cleaned and not so dirty we could stay there for a while.

The new name is Tryp Hotel its part of the Wyndham group. Hotel is sub par as far as service. The sheets aren't changed daily. There is no water in the room. No room service. The bar closes before 12. And if you have a room facing the street you will be awaken by the traffic.
** TIP **. Get a room off the front street or use the traffic as an alarm .

This is the worst place I ever stayed (and I have stayed in a lot of places) cardboard doors, paper thin walls, hardest mattress I ever layed on (didn't sleep at all) filthy toilet, filthy carpet (barely recognizeable as a carpet), filthy curtains. Didn't dare to touch the bed lights as copper wires were showing.
No warm water in the morning.
I would not be surprised if they rent out rooms at an hourly rate too...

Waited in reception several minutes before a staff member appeared. Twice on returning we had to wait for staff to return to gain our key and access to our room.
Hotel was ok but the carpets were dirty in the room.

I had booked this hotel based on a reputable booking site- advertising this as a 3 star property.
On getting there this afternoon; the ramshackle reception with its disinterested 'receptionist" - I was certainly taken aback. I immediately asked to view the rooms I had booked. The photographs on the websites are deceiving.
Upon inspection, I decided - in the presence of a local business friend that this was entirely unsuitable. The place was shabby, sorely in need of renovation, rooms were large but even the basic appointments were not of a 3 -star standard. Bathrooms are sub-standard. The passages and staircases were narrow - and could possibly constitute a fire hazard.
I have lost the three nights accommodation - pre-paid via the booking site; but that is a price I am prepared to pay to ensure my safety and guarantee my sanity. I will be raiding this with the booking agency. Poor show.
