Sometimes it's not the luxuries which make your stay comfortable,it's the hospitality which gives you the homely feeling. Hotel Kohlees was all about that. Vaibhav and his staff took great care in all aspects.
Rooms were decent , clean beds ,clean bathrooms, heater , hot water ,electric blankets . Even the taxi arranged for our stay was appreciable.
The hotel is at a convenient location with the famous Krishna Dhaba across the road. I would really recommend this hotel for anybody who is looking for budget and convenient stay with the added advantage of a homely environment :). Will surely come back to this place again.

The hotel rooms were quite big. The bathroom was also big and neat and clean. The owner Vaibhav kohlee was very helpful and saw to it that v were safe in the city and guided us on various aspects. The staff were very friendly and good. Recommend this hotel to all when u visit srinagar.

Although hotel is walking distance from Dal, it offers good service.
The hotel is just opposite famous Krishna dhabha from where one can get typical North Indian food.
Wifi is chargeable .
Overall good hotel to stay with family and friends.

I along with my friend ( both females) came to Srinagar during the trouble and unrest in the valley by luck would have it we came directly to Hotel Kohlees ( trip advisor reviews) .
on entering the hotel we felt that we had reached home
the hotel has a very homely feel
the rooms are well done with all the basic facilities like tea/coffer maker , led tv with tatasky , great hot water in the shower , clean linen and basic toiletries.
i think we were the only ones staying in the and we were given a room on the first floor in the old building.
we stayed here for four nights and just relaxed in the hotel as there was curfew outside. The owner Mr. Vaibhav made us feel very comfortable and spent lot of time chatting with us during the evenings. He is a very knowledgeable person and very well informed about kashmir.
The hotel does not have an inhouse restaurant but due to curfew we were served with basic meals every day
I say humanity is alive as they did not charge a single penny for any meals and the reason was( we cant charge for meals in times of distress)
Though the room tariff was very economical.
They have prepaid wifi which i thing was a boon with a speed of 1mbps.
He have all the praises for the owners and the staff aswell, they did not let us feel that we were in an alien place with no means of communication .
They arranges us a reliable taxi to see the dal lake and then drop to the airport
We are definately returning to Kohlees, Srinagar when the things improve
GOD GIVE THEM MORE THAN THEY DESIRE BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT

We were returning from Amarnath Yatra and stuck at Sonamarg, due to Unrest in entire Kashmir. Under the current circumstances, tourists were supposed to leave Sonamarg around 11:00 in night and head straight for Srinagar Airport, irrespective of the flight timings, which in our case was 03:45 pm next day.
We called Hotel Kohlees around 10:00 pm and requested for accommodation. We were received at the hotel at 01:00 am in the night and was like 'homecoming'.
