Hotel Kumily Gate is situated in beautiful city of Thekkady. The property is at a distance of 146 km from Cochin International Airport ..nice atmosphere.

Typical Indian hotel, that is the word for restaurant, where the food is good, not too expensive and they serve beer... I had the paneer butter masala which wasn't too spicy. The others had mushroom curry, gobi 65 (cauliflower) gravy (ask for dry or gravy if you want sauce). The noodle soup wasn't such a success. Fried rice, chilli pork (ask for less chilly ;-) were all pretty good. I didn't pay but all were about 120 to 150 and plentiful ... ;-)

This hotel is in the Kumily town, yet in a calm & quite place. Huge space for parking. From outside it looks a very decent hotel.Rooms are spacious & neat & clean.The reception staff is good. Market is at a walkable distance
We had booked this hotel through MMT on MAP basis. but we found that their restaurant is closed. They arranged dinner in the room, but every item was cold. In the breakfast, they served only idly. On our asking, they gave bread butter.
This is good place to stay in budget, but do not book on MAP basis. There are many good eating places nearby at a reasonable price.

I stayed there for a night and it was good experience. Rooms were clean. Washroom was big. Breakfast was also good with limited options. Most importantly we got at cheap rate in peak time. Around 5 k.m from Jungle Safari. Overall worth for money

The front office guy is very helpful and always there for help. All staffs are very polite. This hotel was an old three star bar. But now they stopped all alcohol business and only concentrating in family accommodation.
Highly recommended for families.
