Stayed here for 3 days with wife and kid.
Costs around Rs. 2000/- per night.
Pros.
Near to sea beach.
It has balcony and good ventilated rooms.
Beds, room is neat and clean.
Near to Jagannath temple.
Average room service.
My room did not have geyser, they provided hot water in bucket.
Trupti hotel right next offers good meals like dosa, roti at very reasonable prices. If with family, this is good.
Cons:
Very crowdy area.
Geyser was not available in room. They take 20 minutes to provide one bucket of hot water and service could have been better.
Bed bugs were there but after covering the bed with two bedsheets and with some care, we did not face any more problems.
Minimal room service.
Booked through hotelpushpak, and remaining amount I had to pay in cash, they had no credit card machine.
Tips:
Do not avail the Pandit facility given by any of the hotels.
(Out of scope of this review, but important).
Puri Jagannath mandir is very very famous and has a huge historic significance.
But, unfortunately, the 6000 pandits of the mandir are crooks and criminals who are only interested in fleecing money.
For example, the pandit agent asked me to pay Rs. 501/- for tying a thread around a tree saying all kind of emotional stories like the pandits will do puja for entire year for the wish that we have etc etc. Then another pandit asked for Rs. 101/- for doing a better darshan of swamy. The agent convinced me that I have to pay either Rs. 551/- or 1101/- for Anna daan. Then only I will get Prasad. I asked him what was the need for money, he kept insisting that we come once a lifetime. Finally he was not satisfied with Rs. 100/- and demanded Rs. 300/- to Rs. 500/-. All famous temples in Orissa like Lingaraj temple, Puri Jagannath have a huge plates of cash in front of the deities which itself means that this is pure business for the pandits. DO NOT PAY even a single penny to these pandits. Go a few kms away where there are really poor people residing in huts, who do not have money to meet their daily needs. Help them!
So my humble request to all devotees which I will put up in several forms is understand the historic importance of Puri Jagannath temple. Go to the temple, pray and observe but also understand that the 5500 pandits are basically mafia goons and hence do not pay them even a single penny. Its a crime to pay them.

Hotel Maa Kamakhya in puri is a very good hotel within budget and sea beach with 300 meter . I booked this from makemytrip and got the AC delux rooms at the price of Rs.500/- per night. The location is also very very nice, surrounded by shops and hotels which offers chines i food. Hotel persons are also very good;I was accompanied by my wife and really enjoyed our stay. Go for it if you need homely environment at low cost.

Hotel Maa Kamakhya in puri is a very good hotel within budget. I booked this from cleartrip and got the Non AC delux rooms at the price of Rs.580/- per night. The location is also very nice, surrounded by shops and hotels which offers bengali food. Hotel persons are also very good;I was accompanied by my wife and 1 year old child and really enjoyed our stay. Go for it if you need homely environment at low cost.

Well to be very frank there are many better options to stay in Puri. This hotel is a bit far from the Puri beach. The facilities are bare minimum. They dont even provide hot water in winter season. Double bed rooms are a joke where two single cots are adjoined together with a bench in middle ( which tends to slip). There is an elevator with tendency to suck between floors.
To sum it up, Not recommended.

We had pre-booked this place because we were advised that there could be rush in Puri. But when we reached there we regretted our decision a bit. There are a lot of hotels in Puri, but since we had pre-booked we had to stay here only. The rooms were spacious, but felt not so clean. There was no restaurant in the hotel, actually it is like a lodge. When we reached there there was water filled all along the corridors, the lift was not working. Staff was polite and helpful. Can stay here if nothing else is available. But its pricey to be a budget hotel compared to the facilities it provides.
