Very good but some small improvements necessary.

We stayed at this plush, frankly excellent property smack bang in the middle of Ranchi for 2 nights from 12th Jan to 14th Jan, 2018. As the title suggests, it is very good for the most part. However, there are minor shortcomings which, if addressed, will propel this hotel to dizzy heights.
PROS :
1. Location : This is probably the best located hotel in Ranchi, along with the Radisson. It is in the city centre, surrounded by multiple eateries(including a KFC), clothing stores, electronics shops, cafes etc. However, once inside the room, all the din and noise from outside disappears and is replaced by a calm silence. Talking about the room.......
2. Excellent Room : We booked a Royal Club room and it was magnificent. No other word to describe it. A big room, with plush couches, a couple of nice breakfast chairs, a 40" Sony LED, Central AC.....the room was fabulous...mostly. HOWEVER, there were a couple of drawbacks which I will address later.
3. Excellent Reception Staff : The staff at the reception was very good as well. We mostly dealt with a lady who, we think, has an excellent future in the hospitality industry. She was courteous, polite, professional and very helpful. Unfortunately, we didn't get her name but she was a delight to deal with. She even arranged a complementary airport drop for us of her own accord, when we were checking out. A big thank you to her.
4. Excellent Breakfast : The buffet breakfast was very good, in our opinion. There were a lot of items, all made well and fresh. We had fresh fruits, gulab jamuns, the traditional north Indian breakfast of Paratha and some sabji, some continental options etc.
CONS :
1. A couple of appliances in the room, like the reading lamp were faulty and weren't replaced for the entire stay. The extra cot provided (since we were 3 people) was abysmal to say the least. Seemed like something that we would dispose off as rotten and broken. It was unbecoming of the hotel and the room.
2. The restaurant had a fairly large menu but half of the items were unavailable, which was a big dampener. Also, the room service boys were clearly not trained well enough. They spoke no English and for some reason, most of them spoke broken Hindi which confused us considering we were in Ranchi. We had to resort to sign language a lot of times. Most of the time, the room service people did not even understand our sign language and we just had to do the work ourselves. A hotel like this, which clearly is funded generously, should train it's staff better.
3. We were in room 409, which had a connecting door with room 408. While that door remained locked, the fact that the 2 rooms shared a common wall was a big disadvantage to us because while the hotel was seemingly half empty, they assigned a bunch of bottle-buddies to room 408, on both nights. With all the liquid down their collective hatches, they were very rowdy and sort of disturbed our sleep both nights. However, the good thing was that both the parties stopped before midnight.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Maple Wood to other travellers because of it's location especially. But, there are a few prominent creases which the hotel need to iron out, especially with their room service staff. That aside, we will definitely go back to this hotel if we ever visit Ranchi again.

We stayed at Maple Wood on a business for 5 nights. it was one of my best hotel staying experience. Felt at home indeed! Food too was too good and tasty. Staff were simply friendly and smiling. The front desk manager, Mr. Joseph was so friendly and accomodative who made our stay memorable. Thanks Maple Wood!!!

The hotel is located at very good place, Near to the railway station. It has parking place also. The breakfast was good however there was not much variety. Rooms are clean, have Centralised AC and spacious specially on the road side view. Nice and polite behaviour of hotel staffs.

Clean and Comfortable Hotel

I stayed in hotel because of its proximity to YSS Centre, Ranchi. Its just across the Ashram, so v convenient. Hotel room was nice and comfortable, linen was changed everyday and room was clean. Any deficiency or query was attended to immediately. Breakfast buffet was good, could have more variety and wish Dosas were served more hot. hotel is just 5 min away from Railway station and about 15 min from airport. Overall comfortable place, not 5 star but good value for money.Drawback is busy traffic on the road between Ashram and hotel, so one has to be v careful. Hotel gives discount to devotees coming to YSS Ashram.
