Bad experience

Been here for 2 days. Towels provided had terrible smell. As winter season is on blankets provided was very thin and capable for fitting single person . I asked for extra blankets but they didnât provided saying hotel is full.
Food was average.
I checked-in in evening asked for hot water , but they refused saying will get in morning only .
Good transit Hotel

Stayed in this hotel for a night on my way back to Bangalore from Mumbai for a night. Here are some pointers.
Pros
a. Good location - On the highway and centrally located for a transit passenger (The hotel is on the other side when traveling from Mumbai to Bangalore).
b. Good food - They have good ala-carte menu for both Veg/Non-veg and their room service is also good.
c. Spacious rooms
d. Stable internet connection
Cons
a. Breakfast spread is limited.
b. Old room decor (For a transit passenger, it doesn't really matter).
Good Place to stay

This is a decent place to stay if you are on your business trip. A typical business hotel situated on Pune Bengaluru highway. Rooms were okay. They need to spend money on pillows so that visitors can get a sound sleep. Food was good. Overall an above average hotel to stay.
Pathetic restaurant experience

Our families went with a high hopes of getting quality maharashtrian food. However, to our utter disappointment the waiter kept discouraging us to go for maharashtrian food for some or the other reason and kept pushing for other options. The service was also pathetic and one should not get deceived by its grand outer look !
Worst hospitality

The most important aspect of customer centric functions is hospitality. If hospitality is good, some issues could be ignored. But Maratha Palace scores very low on that point.
We had made booking through online portal and were supposed to stay for a night. We came before the check-in time of 12PM as we had to travel in a over night bus. In such cases, hotels provide a room if it is available. Else, we have to wait till 12PM. In this case, rooms were available but they refused to give. At the same time, we also saw them giving rooms for people who came with local travel agent.
Ou plan included complimentary breakfast but we were leaving at 6AM on the next day. So, we asked whether we could swap it for the current day. They rudely refused. Never had such an experience.
Finally, we utilized common restrooms and called our taxi to go on site seeing. And checked-in late in the night.
The rooms were decent and we had no issues with that. If only matched with the customer friendly people/management, the rating would have gone much higher.
