Friendly staff, pleasant stay

I've spent two nights in two different rooms in this hotel and I choose the cheapest. Still I got excellent service, the staff is friendly and ready to help. The breakfast is simple but good and really freshly made. There is free Wi-Fi, which is best in the lobby-bar, a nice and comfortable area to sit. The interior of my rooms were a bit old but they were clean. The laundry service is excellent and not too expensive. The location is good too, it takes about five minutes to walk to the shopping mall with fresh food market. One of the best rated restaurants is just around the corner and you can easily walk to the harbour, where the Pelni ships come to. I liked the place, it was a pleasant, relaxed stay and will come back here when I am in Ambon again.

We stayed for 1 night and then. switched to another place. The stuff is very engaged and always responsive although their knowledge of English is rather limited. We got a nice and large room in the 3rd floor. The Windows couldn't be closed completed and the noise from the road made sleep a challenge in the night. The Hotel bar was only visited BZ locals who used it as a kind of waiting room. Breakfast was good in the restaurant and a mixture of Indonesian and continental food. In general we found the place worth a try but feel that a certain renovation would be necessary to improve the overall impression of the place.
The best place to stay in Ambo town

In the last 15 years, i always stay at Mutiara hotel when visiting Ambon.
Nice, clean and cozy with friendly staff. Tours around Maluku can also be arranged from there.
The food are superb especially the "bubur ayam". One thing missing in my last visit was- The Cheese burger and french fries!!!

I visited the Mutiara Hotel in February to bring my father's ashes back to where he was a prisoner of war in World War 2, and I cannot believe how beautiful the people were to me and how beautiful the place is, now I know why my father loved this place so much, they made me feel like a long lost son who had finally come home.
Thank you Andre and all the Mutiara staff from the bottom of my heart.

Hotel Mutiara is the best place to stay while visiting Ambon. It is very central and all people working there speak good English and are very helpfull. You can choose of many different rooms. Ambon is still unspoilt by tourists and has many hidden treasures. Ask the manager for advice. Tip: besides Ambon try to go to Saparua as well!
