Good hotel in Osaka

Overall our stay in this hotel was good. The price was fairly cheap, the rooms reasonably large and the location decent. The staff were helpful and spoke English. While there was nothing exceptional about our stay here and there are almost certainly better hotels to choose in Osaka, it is still a good option for a short stay.
I would advise not coming here if you are a tourist

This hotel is not a nice hotel, if you are travelling on a very small budget then it could be the place to go but don't expect anything great. You need to manually heat the water before you use it in a shower(photos available). Japanese are known for being efficient with space but this is not efficient especially for the price you pay. The walls don't have typical sound proofing so you can hear neighbours and traffic as well as a lot of sirens passing by late at night. No room service which is a basic feature of all hotels, you are asked to clean the room before you leave but wasn't told this upon booking the hotel. You have to pay 200-500Â¥ to wash pillow cases, towels and bed sheets which is annoying considering the price of the hotel, you would think it would be included in the price. One elevator for about 18 floors which can be a very long wait. Room smoking fine is 20,000Â¥ even though our room smelt of it badly, despite booking a no smoking room. Location is also annoying, quite far away from a few things you would like to do, would advise getting a rail pass or bicycle if you are doing a bit of traveling, cabs and busses are not the way to go.
The only positive thing is the staff are very polite which is typical of Japanese people, everyone here is so lovely! Again, if you are a tourist with a little bit of money to spare, I would choose a different hotel - I stayed in Tokyo and Kyoto and both hotels were the same price if not cheaper and a lot better.
Bad experience and very expensive!

We have spent one night at MyStay Hotel Otemae in Osaka, before going to the airport after 4 lovely days in Kyoto. We have been very disappointed by the hotel. We paid 1400 Yen for an appartment, which was really bad, even if very spacious:
- the bathroom is really old and a bit damaged
- the sofa was dirty
- the room smelt the cigarette, although we booked a non smoking room
- the bed was really small
- the street is quite noisy and we were at the second floor with a "view" on the street
We believe that compared to what we paid in Kyoto for a very lovely hotel, this hotel is really expensive for "old" bedrooms. The bedrooms are not modern at all and shall date from a long time ago. In addition, the interior of the hotel (corridors) are shady!
It does not deserve the price we paid for it!
I do not recommend it!
Recommend staying somewhere else

We didn't love our stay here. If you're a tourist in Osaka, we'd recommend staying somewhere more central near Dotonburi Street perhaps.
Our main complaint here was that our bathroom on arrival smelt so strongly of urine. We should've complained but thought the snell might go (it didn't). Think it may be to do with the bathrooms here being kind of like pod like/portaloo style.
The bed was comfortable but very small for two people and it just really wasn't a place we enjoyed coming back to after a long day sightseeing.
It is a great spot for the Osaka castle but is more like a business district.
Staff were lovely overall. We did ask them to call us a taxi one day since we had our luggage and they said they couldn't as it was raining.
Wouldn't recommend unfortunately.
Great location near the famous Castle and close to the subway.

Its a small hotel, great staff and on the higher floors BIG ROOMS! We checked in and as there was an issue with our rooms, the last guest spilt something on the carpet and it had a funny smell they graciously upgraded us to room 904, a one bedroom apartment twin, very spacious and with a large balcony, large separate bedroom with tons of storage space, a big lounge and full kitchen and dining room table too. The bathroom was huge and the basin doubled as a basin so we were able to was all our clothes and hang on the balcony. It had 2 hanging points but we always carry an extendable line so plenty of drying space.
The beds were ever so comfortable but as usual the pillows were a bit soft but that was just us. Its close to the Tanimachi 4 Chome metro station, Osaka Castle, supermarkets and restaurants galore. My tip is to spent a little more money and get the bigger rooms if u are staying more than just a few days, makes life so much easier as out first room in Tokyo was only 17.5 Sq/m and so small we had to go outside to change, well almost. This one was a full apartment and probably 40+ sq/m. We had a great stay and highly recommended, not 5 star but a great place.
