A bit too far away from the city centre but good tram line and tube connections make up for the âout of boundsâ location. A taxi from La Ramblas back to the hotel cost less than 20 EUR. Indoor parking behind locked doors will keep your precious motor almost untouchable. Novotel always provide value for money but I have seen better 4star hotels. If you are on a not so liberal budget, this hotel is a (very) good choice.

We stayed 1 night and for distance to the airport worked out to be very good value for money. Booking direct offered the best price. We paid extra for parking which is a necessity if you have suitcases in the car.

I write this review not as an occupant but as a customer who had made his reservations but was unable to stay/utilize the booking due to visa issues. My request for Visa for travel to Spain for my honeymoon was rejected and I had requested the hotel authorities to consider my situation and sought a refund on the same. If in case any documentation was required as proof, I was ready to provide the same as well. But all my requests were in vain. Atleast some understanding should have been there to consider that I was not allowed to travel to Spain, and not because i did not want to. My hotel booking was for 3 nights along with breakfast and the overall amount of INR 25K. Spain was a dream destination for me and my wife, but this money has totally gone down the drain for me and I hope the Spanish authorities and the hotel people reform to consider people's emotions and the value of money.

Absolute 5 star prestige hotel!!
Fantastic clean atmosphere and a lovely place to get away from the hectic city of Barcelona & just chill your nuggets! Just a short walk away from the tram line, which will bring you to a metro stop which will then further take you to the heart of the city. Novotel in San Joan Despi is ideal for a few nights stay!
After spending the first 4 night's of our trip in an air bnb, we headed to Novotel after a late night of drinking where the following morning our heads were a bit fragile, to find ourselves met with a massive clean room, with a huge comfortable, and I mean COMFORTABLE, bed!! But most of all, our favourite part, was the large sized bath which was so big that you could honestly fit yourself and a full mariachi band in for a relaxing wash!! The baths are so lovely that I found myself hopping in at every chance I got. Nightly, I would bring back some sweets & treats, and head in for a splash. Tropical juice box in hand, and pringles at the ready (sour cream), I would kick back and relax, and listen to the melodious tones of Bob Marley's Redemption song, without a care in the world.Tranquil to say the least!!
I would definitely return here for everything listed above, and most of all, the memories we made here. Overall, absolute value for money, and all in the BEA-U-TIFUL city of Barcelona...WHOPPER!!!

Novotel, Novotel, you are a pure nice hotel, you make me feel welcome, and you don't even smell. Well you do actually smell, but you smell really nice, like a nice summers day, like a curry with spice. Thank you for the memories, thank you for the laughs, thank you for the splash, in your splishy splashy baths.
Stay at this hotel, oh you really should do, Novotel is for me, Novotel is for you!!!

My friend and I are traveling for the first time on a Trafalgar tour in Spain (Grand European Travel). Novotel was our first hotel to stay in. The employees were delightful, except for one, whose name is Sylvia. She took the service out of service industries. She could not have been more difficult to deal with. We purchased a bottle of wine for our room from a grocery store. Because the hotel does not have a wine opener in the rooms, we asked the bartender to please open it for us so we could take it back to our room to enjoy. Sylvia intervened and refused to let the bartender open it. After going to the front desk and complaining, Sylvia, along with the bartender and desk manager, came to our table to discuss opening the bottle. OMG! Are you kidding me???? She finally allowed the bartender to open it. I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Joseph, the bartender. I tipped him very well. I watched, in shock, as he gave the tip to Sylvia and she took it. The next morning, everyone, except for Sylvia, came to us and apologized for the fiasco the night before. My friend and I bought another bottle of wine for the next night and Mark, the bartender for that night, had absolutely no problem opening it for us.
I will never stay in this hotel again. Not only because of the incident above, but because the hotel is not in a great location. The website looks MUCH better than the actual hotel. The entire hotel has a moldy smell, you only get shampoo, shower gel and soap... no conditioner and no lotion. I did manage to kill a baby roach on the floor and hope and pray that his friends have not invaded my suitcase!
The breakfast they offer is very good. The signs say it opens at 6:30. Not true... they refused to open it until 7:00, while people were standing in line to get in. EVERYTHING was ice cold! Seriously???
In my opinion, this hotel offers nothing above what you would normally get for a two star hotel in the States.
All in all, EVERY one of the employees, except for Sylvia, were delightful. It only takes one bad apple to make the whole place look bad.
