I stay in a lot of hotels around the world and sometimes I am puzzled by other reviewersâ comments on places that I find exceptional. I really enjoyed my stay here. laundry service was quick, efficient and great value. Breakfast was lovely, views from the roof terrace stunning and my room was huge and luxurious. I was very impressed that I was allowed to have a 3pm checkout at no extra charge - thus allowing me time to do some extra sightseeing, lunch and relax before my train to the next town in this amazing state of Tamil Nadu.
The hotel is in a great location and a short walk from the station and the amazing temple complex.
Loved the hotel and special mention to Saravanan on Reception for his professionalism and great customer service!
i highly recommend Hotel Park Plaza.

First of all, this is not part of the Park Plaza international hotel chain but the prices match to that of the chain. This place is nothing more than a high-end lodge. The rooms are very old and dirty. Bathrooms are not worth a piss.
Parking is outside on a road and is in a very bad shape.
The staff is quite rude and unhelpful.
Food is OK but comes with an exorbitant price tag and a very slow service.
Buffet breakfast is also OK with very limited vegetarian choices and poor service.
Overall a complete waste of money.

The hotel is really old and not worth the tariff. Bedrooms and bathrooms are dirty with no maintenance. As per booking.com the rooms are supposed to have bath tubs but they have no bath tubs in any room. The views from all rooms has been blocked by new constructions and there are open bars just below rooms on each side. The hotel has no parking. The rooms are filthy and food is pathetic. The room service is extremely slow and they do not understand a word of Hindi or English. Donât stay here. Itâs advised to book a lodge, itâll be better than this hotel.

This hotel is located in heart of the city . Well connected by walk able distance to Madurai Junction railway station ,Lord Meenakshi Amman Temple , Periyar local bus station and big shops . Various budget food restaurant and eateries available near to this hotel

Summary -
Stayed for 2 days in the month of June this year
Good:
1.Food is just ok, not good, not bad either, small portions. Good places to eat out nearby.
2.Railway station and meenakshi temple are at a walkable distance.
3.Good spacious room with toiletries
4.Good wi-fi, yet expiring quite frequently, you need to ask for credentials many times
5.AC worked well with noisy AC fan
Bad:
1.Power issues frequently and the back-up was delayed
2.Bar was closed for govt. order
3.Tea coffee maker not working and placed improperly, away from the plug-points, those were not functional.The electrician tried his best, yet unable to fix
4.Hot water was just luke-warm
5.Poor clarity of TV, less number of TV channels, almost 0 hindi and 0 hindi movie channels
