What People are saying

Perfect location for Rias Baixas

Diego C on 23/09/2016 11:36

This hotel is really well located to drive around Rias Baixas.
We had a pleasant 5-night stay at this hotel. It has a huge parking as you will normally be driving and an outdoors swimming pool for the summer. The rooms were big enough for 2 people but no luxuries, it had a TV and the bed was queen size and very comfortable. There was enough space also to leave luggage and there was a really nice balcony that could be cool if you plan to spend time in the hotel with friends. The first 2 nights were a bit noisy around midnight as there were noisy neighbors in the room next doors. Probably the walls are not very thick.
The bathroom was really complete with a walk-in shower and it was recently refurbished. I saw the room my parents were staying and everything looked older and they had a bath instead, so make sure you ask for the ones that have a shower.
Cleaning ladies were really nice although they change your towels every day when they should only do when finding them on the floor. We told them not to change our hand soap and towels every day and they still would, it's for the environment!
The breakfast was nothing massive, but really good. Toasts (real Spanish bread toasts), olive oil, coffe, tea, milk, juices, Spanish "sobaos" and "madalenas", cola-cao... Really decent. Maybe some youguts and fruit would have been nice too.
Bad thing: WiFi worked on and off during the entire stay, more off than on actually.
Very good option in general for Pontevedra and surroundings!

Good hotel for short stay

Hotel is located on the hill over the Pontevedra town. There is a large parking and open sky pool, but during our visit with cold water. Rooms are spacious, with nice bathroom (tube). Thin walls between the rooms are not comfortable, you can to hear everything from neighbor.
Breakfast was very poor, just pastries and sweet pastries, butter and jam. Coffee was OK.

More than a very good 1-star hotel, but with 2 negative issues

criberico on 30/04/2014 13:43

Certainly this is a one star-hotel even when it’s a big building and it offers some features not usually found in any of its kind such as a swimming pool. These facts suggest that it may have been a higher level hotel in the past but at the moment the one-star suits it very well.

The building seems to have been built in the 70s and nowadays it looks like no major refurbishments have been carried out, but it is well maintained. Some old furniture coexists with modern facilities such as flat screen TVs, and they meet every basic necessity. The cleanliness is very good not only in the room but in all public areas.

We got one of the economic en-suite rooms on the first floor. The size was normal, enough for a short stay, but it had a metal and glass covered balcony that made it bigger and very well illuminated. The room was equipped with a small flat screen TV, telephone, desk, and a regular sized wardrobe. Although the bathroom was fine, with bathtub, bidet, and just a few soap bars as toiletries, it presented one of the downside parts of the hotel Paris experience. The slight sewage smell was present all the time, it wasn't very bad and we didn't complain, but obviously it’s never nice at all.

Our room faced the main street and we were worried about the noise at night but we didn’t hear any. On the contrary, the noises we could hear came from the next rooms since the insulation is thin (the other downside part), but we were lucky and our neighbours were quiet. In general the sleep quality was very good. The mattress could be qualified as “hard” (orthopaedic) by some people, but that didn’t prevent us from sleeping perfectly.

They offer free wi-fi in the public areas, but we managed to connect and use internet from the first floor.

The hotel is very well located on the main road that connects the city of Pontevedra with the beaches of Sanxenxo and Portonovo. It’s 10-20 min away from them with normal traffic (not in summer though), and has a big and extremely easy parking lot between the building and the main street that makes it a perfect option when travelling by car.

The breakfast, included in the price, was really good, with coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, huge toasts (mini baguettes), and pastries. We never asked if it was all-you-can-eat type, but the staff happily provided us with more toasts on demand.

The service was very friendly and very nice.

All in all, we would stay again but having ear and nose plugs, just in case!
