Great location near Morioka JR station, plenty of choices for nearby restaurants. Rooms clean and warm, hot shower was wonderful as we arrived at the beginning of winter. Staff very courteous even if they don't speak great English!

1 night stay. Close to the station (520Yen taxi or 10min walk). Room was cheap compared to other hotels we stayed in but deservedly so.
Very small, grubby room. Bathroom semi-clean. Hotel is tired looking and everything is faded/stained. Bed very hard but clean sheets. Only WiFi in the lobby.

Now there is not much to see or do in Morioka. I had to stop here one night as I was travelling all the way from Wakkanai to Tokyo via train and had to make a pit stop for the night and just chose Morioka for that. Stayed in this hotel for a night - average to below average quality I would say. Good for just one night. Rooms are slightly old and they smell of smoke but that's common in a lot of cheap Japanese hotels. Walking around in that area at night was quite nice actually - I felt like I was in a Murakami novel. If you keep walking left from the hotel you will reach the night district of Morioka with lots of clubs, bars and restaurants. It was quite an experience walking around there at midnight. And oh - if you are looking for some Japanese p(orn then switch on the tv at the hotel.Location of the hotel is good - about 10 mins to the train station.
