Avoid Prince Residency, Bhuj at all costs

I had done an online booking and also done a telephonic confirmation with Prince Residency for a deluxe room on 26 th December,2017.On arrival I was given a standard room by the front desk and was told it is a deluxe room.At 11 pm I had to insist on a transfer to The Prince.I later leant that my room was given away to another family.Being a woman they decided they could cheat me by palming off a standard for a deluxe
Very pathetic.Do not get fooled by the pictures posted online is my sincere advice to fellow travelers.

A Clean Place to stay

Hotel Prince has a good customer service with a good in-house dining area. Breakfast is average and dinner is a la cart. WiFi in the rooms was touch and go and had to ask hotel staff several times for help with connecting to WiFi.
Overall a great place to stay if visiting Bhuj

We found this hotel completely by happenstance when ditching our previous hotel in the centre of Bhuj after one night. We were actually looking for the larger Prince Hotel, of which this is the sister hotel.
There is plenty of parking out front, but location-wise it is right next a very busy road and T-junction, so there are a lot of cars beeping and the usual sounds of India late into the night. Our room was quite close to the front of the hotel, and I am happy to say most of the traffic noise dies away once inside your room. You can get to the centre of Bhuj fairly easily with a 10-20 minute walk down the road or a few minutes by car.
The rooms themselves are clean and spacious, the bathrooms especially were amongst the cleanest we came across in our travels around Gujarat. There are a few communal sofas and tables out in the lobby, staff seemed happy for us to go and play cards to unwind after a day sight-seeing. The staff were very pleasant and smiling the entire time we were there, always said good morning and were attentive to our needs if we required extra towels, loo roll etc.
The food court does look a bit tired and somewhat dated, but there was always a good selection of food for breakfast - and the staff encourages you to fill your plate as many times as you want. Usually consisted of the staples like boha but with a few new things added in every morning. If requested, the staff were happy to provide less adventurous fare like cornflakes and toast/jam if your stomach is having a funny turn.
I don't really have anything bad to say about this place. My only niggle is that the ceiling fan in our room was a bit loose at the fitting and started knocking if turned too high. Also the concierge at breakfast did at times seem a little too friendly and would stand over us chatting when we were bleary eyed and trying to eat.
All in all, a great stay. Definitely check it out if you are visiting Bhuj.
