The outside temperature when we arrived at this hotel was 28C but the aircon had been switched off and the heating put on so we were told to open the windows as it would get cooler overnight. Very poor for a 4 star hotel as are the wooden sticks and paper cups provided to make tea and coffee. We arrived on a Sunday night and the restaurant was closed although a group of people who had pre-booked did receive food. Wecould also have been told that there was a Macdonalds within easy walking distance...The restaurant was reasonable on the Monday night and breakfast was excellent. The room was nice and clean although the outside of the hotel could do with some sprucing up.

We were very fortunate to obtain a discounted rate.
We had a wonderful menu du jour and based on this restaurant experience will return in the not too distant future. Our room was clean and comfortable and all the staff were helpful and friendly

I have stayed in many mercure hotels in different countries. This one was the worst ever. No 4 stars if you ask me.
Very old fashioned, bathroom poorly restaurateur. Some parts not painted. Douche in the bath tub.
Old looking carpet.
Many time for a complete make over.
Breakfast 15 euros, very limited buffet compared with other mercure hotels, some have even fresh egg cooking on demand.

I am always looking for the positives in places that we stay. This Mercure was a little outdated, the room we had smelled like old smoke. But we were traveling with two dogs so perhaps we gor the dog room. The staff was excellent and very helpful and polite. The outdoor terrace was nice for our evening meal and we enjoyed our quick breakfast there.

If you're not on the river side don't be surprised if you're awaken early in the morning by the sound of a motorcycle going by. Sadly motorcycles have become the curse of France for anyone who had a hotel room on the street side. Laws controlling motorcycles are not adequately enforced. Otherwise it is a fine hotel but check to see if the A/C is working properly if you're there when it's warm.
