excellent stat at the Hotel Riche. Great room, good food stayed for New Year. excellent staff. I would recomend this hotel. nicely postioned in the town and flat level walking. Quaint town that is well worth a visit. Travel in a group coach party.

We travelled as a private party of to Valkenburg for New Year, staying at Hotel Riche. We arrived at 8pm to a very warm welcome & a 4 course meal which was beautifully cooked and presented. Throughout our stay the food and service were excellent; you have a choice of main course (which you choose in the morning), the starter, soup and desert are set, and the portion sizes are very good. Our room on the 1st floor was adequate, clean and comfortable, although there was only a small wardrobe for clothes. We managed as we were only staying for 4 nights. Valkenburg is a most attractive town. While we were there a Children's Fairytale parade took place. Our evening meal was served earlier that night so that we did not miss the parade,which was fantastic. The "little ones" dancing were a treat and the floats beautifully decorated. The chair lift which offers great views over Valkenburg and surrounding area was nearby. Good value at â¬5 each. We visited Maastricht, Liege and Monschau. A few hours at each location at this time of year is ample. We highly recommend both the hotel and area and would like to return someday.

Stayed here over the new year period as part of a larger party. There was a problem with my room on the first night which was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. Can not fault the staff : they were very welcoming, efficient and friendly. The meals were excellent and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble and everybody went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Location was brilliant : a very short walk into Valkenburg with lots of places to see, eat and drink. If I ever have the opportunity to return to a Valkenburg I would certainly stay at Hotel Riche again.

I stayed here recently with my partner with a large group of people. We had some lovely meals and the staff were very friendly as nothing was too much trouble. The first day the hair dryer in our room did not work. I mentioned this at reception and another one was put in our room later. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. A bit strange there wasn't a plug for the wash basin but I am sure if we had asked we would have got one. Obviously they do not have a water meter!. It took me a couple of days to crack the shower. Turn the hot on full then introduce the cold gradually until it suits. May be it needs a little up dating. However I really enjoyed my stay and there were lots of nice elements. We got back from trips and coffee and cakes awaited us. This is a really friendly family run hotel and I would certainly stay there again.

Valkenburg is a most attractive town. While we were there a Winterwonderland parade took place. Our evening meal was served slightly earlier that night so that we did not miss the parade,which was fantastic. The "little ones" dancing were a treat and the floats beautifully decorated.
We took a ride on the chair lift which offers great views over Valkenburg and surrounding area. Good value at â¬5 each. An Amaretto hot chocolate at the top was most welcome.ð
We visited Maastricht, Liege and Monschau. A few hours at each location at this time of year is ample. The Basilica at Maastricht is very splendid and well worth a visit.
I highly recommend both the hotel and area and would like to return,perhaps in the summer months.
