A quaint hotel!

This cute boutique hotel is a rediscovery of the British Era!! We had booked 8 rooms including the 3 bedroom villa.
Though its rustic- it has all modern conveniences including heaters and wifi.
There are several shortcomings which need to be addressed.
The lighting is extremely poor and at night- is difficult-
The showers donât have enough pressure.
The commodes are too high.
The worst experience was the Spa- where the heating was inadequate, the steam did not work, they ran out of water. We caught such a chill that 4 days we have had fever and cold!!!
They apologised - but we fell ill !
The food is decent- and they make stuff as you like it.
Considering their rates- its not value for money!!

Think Enid Blyton's stories... this is a place where you can live your childhood fantasies of being in a log cabin in the cold in a far away enchanted forest.
Perfect setting to cuddle in bed and catch up on reading, or to soak in crisp fresh air, or to have delicious maggie, waffles, bun omelette and tea at Char Dukan a 100 feet away. In the -2 C temperature it was the best maggie/bun Omelette and tea I have ever had in my life
Rokeby Manor is more than charming, it comes with very good food too. Their restaurant Emilys has an extensive menu which includes Conti, Pizzas (toppings on Naan Bread), and North Indian chicken tikka masala. I'd say very good food, not best in class (pardon the fussy Dilli waala in me).
We stayed in the room by the lobby yet very quiet. The efficient air conditioner kept our room very warm (we had to turn it down at night). Comfortable beds and hot water kept us happy. Each room has individual water heaters so be mindful if you are sharing a room. Very helpful and friendly staff
Loved our short stay, will come back again to relive the experience

It was a pleasure to be back at Rokeby last week for New Year's. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. We stayed at the villa which is not in the main hotel premises, it is a slight walk away which makes it secluded and ideal to bond with family and friends. There are 3 fully equipped rooms and there is a large living space. Altogether it is amazing thanks to the comfort, jacuzzi, views and private chef and butler. I don't think it's a great idea for senior citizens as it is a walk down to the villa. Keeping that aside, the food and general atmosphere is AMAZING. Staying in the villa, with the stunning views and hospitality was a truly unforgettable experience.
