What People are saying
They don't care

I went for a day biztrip.
1. The room is extremely old
2. My room key doesn't work, I have to go down again to ask them to open it for me. And it seemed that the master key worked. They said they were going to send someone to fix it. I waited and waited for 30mins, then I ordered food with gofood. Had to go down and took my food. While at it, I asked again when will they send someone, 'soon' they said. I went up and sat on the lobby of my floor because I can't get it, for 10 minutes. I was fed up and went down again, I was irritated. I ask for someone to open my door again. They were unapologetic, even more irritated than me.
After another 30 mins, someone came to my door and fix the door.
There are a plethora of hotels in makassar, no need to choose this one.
I Dont Know What To Say

Upon arrival at 11pm in a smelly lobby we were given a room that was a smoking room and didn't look anything like the picture of our booking site.
At reception we were told the room wasn't available anymore. We were given another non-smoking room which was not clean, had a non-working shower.
Breakfast was unlike anything, poor, no-choice, tasteless and again in a smoking section (luckily I was the only guest).
This morning we were finally given the room we booked. It's supposed to be recently refurbished, but it's minimal and again a non-working shower (no hot water and clogged plumbing).
Their swimming pool is disgusting dirty, don't be fooled by the pictures!
I had booked for 3 nights but after that first night and 3 different rooms I fled this hotel without bothering for a refund. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible!
Staff were friendly all the time but unfortunately all they could say was "sorry".
Please close this hotel for an extensive overhaul!
Refurbishment urgently required

I was in Makassar for business and had to stay for 2 days. I requested this hotel with a relatively high expectation to get comfort from 4 stars hotel but unfortunately they failed to barely even close to it. I am quite familiar with their sister hotel in Jakarta, Hotel Sahid Jakarta which offers pleasant experience so I was thinking the one in Makassar would provide the same. I was wrong. The hotel is really old, you can tell from their design and interior that the hotel was something in 1990's. Staffs were not that friendly, one of them didn't try to notice when I said thank you and please do not expect too much with their breakfast menu. The rate is relatively cheap, but next time I would rather to stay in a boutique hotel instead.
Dont expect too much

My personal note:
- upon arrival & checking in I received an envelope with an apology letter included, saying that the hot water machine is not working.
- but then in the room I got curious & check tripadvisor, turns out they had been having this problem since at least June.
- Local colleagues warn me that the hotel is so old it is haunted. But I dont see nor experience supernatural beings during the stay. the hallway is dark though, which maybe add to the stigma of haunted hotel.
- Maybe out of guilt for not having the hot water working, every evening hotel guests received 2 ramen cups & bottled tea, delivered to our room. And they said it is free. (Weird)
- hotel staff were friendly enough
- breakfast? Just skip it, go to nearest traditional food vendors with better tasting food. Foreigners, just wait until next door Starbucks or McD open at 9 am.
- room size is adequate
- 20 metres away from big shopping mal. Find what you need there.
