Nice atmosphere

We had a large, clean room with a balcony overlooking the garden. It was quiet at night. The fan and TV did not work but the aircon was fine. The twin beds were comfortable but the bathroom had many leaks although there was plenty of hot water. We had a good evening meal in the garden and also had breakfast there. The breakfast consisted of juice, fruit, omelettes or hard boiled eggs, toast, jam and tea.

Nice and cool and built around an atrium with two glass feature lifts. The rooms are large and pleasant and the swimming pool ok, clean, but you approach it through the dining room which is a bit strange. Enjoyed our stay and the food was very tasty although some buffet food was cold.
Terrible pathetic

Writing this review when I am still in the hotel... Poor poor staff, have been shifted to different rooms thrice. Dirty is also not enough to state the terrible condition of this hotel. If your room is not locked hotel staff come and go in to your room without knocking or informing. No star at all should be given to this hotel.
Better among the few

Located outside the city, in the chitradurga- Sholapur bye pass...it has a mini swimming pool, Not much to comment about the standards though... We did not have food in the hotel. However one or 2 good restaurants nearby at a walkable distance available... Room service was good.
Worst hotel ever

Do NOT stay here! As a previous reviewer said, the whole place is filthy. Our room was dirty, and the sheets were coarse with laundered in dirt. The bathroom window was missing several slats of glass. When we complained and pointed out this would let the mosquitoes in, the solution was to tape some newspaper over the window. The 'restaurant' is in the bar. The table and floors are covered with overflowing ashtrays and dirt, the place is noisy from the drinkers and the service erratic. The food was OK but we couldn't help worrying about hygiene. We had the misfortune to be booked in for 2 nights via a travel agency and could not get a refund, or we would have moved hotels. The Basava is a new hotel which looks far far nicer. The 2nd day we had an excellent lunch at the Madhuvan hotel so we could skip dinner at the Shashinag. The hotel is on the ring road, miles away from the town centre, so there is no option to walk to somewhere else to eat. Truly dreadful.
