We have been the loyal customers of Hotel Shreyas since long time. I love the food and the room servixe they offer, but there is good scope for improvement when it comes to room decor. Maybe because the Hotel is quite old, the renovation of overall building would do wonders. We will keep visiting it even if they do not renovate it, but if they really want to compete with the other classy hotels on Apte Road itself, then a makeover in terms of looks is much needed.

Hotel is good and ideally located in the heart of Pune City. It is away from the main road and hence less noise . Room was neat and clean and spacious. . Service was good . Food was good and offered variety in daily breakfast.

Room was quite reasonable and the hotel is in a good location. First time we got a room on the back side, above the kitchen I think, so some sounds of vessels clanking. Second time, we were lucky to get a room on the front side, with a balcony. Unfortunately, they have renovated the rooms and removed the bathtubs, so though it is mentioned somewhere, there are no rooms with bath tubs.
Note: Hot water is available at fixed times (morning and evening) and room cleaning is till 2.00 pm.
Also, their system requires guests to ring a bell, after which room service calls back; but it worked fine for us.
We didn't get room cleaning done, but we were able to get towels changed etc at our convenience. Service was prompt and helpful.
Breakfast buffet spread was quite reasonable. Apart from the items served, (not too sure, but I remember uthappam/paniyaram, chutney, some misal, pav/sandwiches, bread, (toasted on request and nicely buttered!) + accompaniments, a sweet (rasmalai on one day and carrot halwa on another), some fruit juice (packaged), lassi, tea, coffee (you can ask if you want any customization such as without sugar)), eggs are prepared on request. Taste was fine. (Some items were a bit garlicky; I liked them, my wife didn't!)
The hotel is well known and well patronised! Some parking is there inside the compound and the road leading in, but it became very crowded on all the four days when we were there.

We used their facilities for a mehendi evening party (terrace) and a 1 day wedding (5th floor hall) with 10+ rooms booked for our guests. The overall experience was OK , but there are some items that Hotel Shreyas management should improve upon :
1. The sound system(amplifier) and speakers on the terrace are terrible. They are very old and severely distort sound. They badly need to be replaced with newer ones. Please take this seriously.
2. Breakfast was promised to be served at 7:30 AM on the 5th floor hall , but even at 7:45 AM , no breakfast was available. Breakfast arrived at 7:50 AM (20 mins late !) , and the manager was giving excuses like the food was being warmed up, we did not want it to sit here and get cold etc. The guests who were ready for breakfast at 7:30 AM were very disappointed and went back to their rooms without breakfast. Hopefully this serves as a lesson in the importance of being punctual.
3. The room charges can not be paid by check - only card payments are accepted. However, we had booked several rooms , so the payment was too large to be paid with a single card transaction. It took a lot of negotiation , arguments before the front desk staff agreed to accept a check payment. What's ironical is that check payment was accepted without any fuss for the wedding hall and terrace charges.

Review only of annual hurda party organised on their rooftop during januarys. V good!! Hurda served hot off the pan with accompaniements like bhajia,sugarcane juice,solapuri danyachi chutney,dane,gur,khobra,oil,etc. 1 change i wd like to see please keep ghee (tup) also...it makes the hurda more tastier n digestable. Good rural dressing up of the place..makes u feel u r in a mahrashtrian village. Hurda is followed by a sumptious authentic mahrashtrian dinner which includes khichadi,metkut bhaat,bharit,pithla,bhakri,gul poli (v yummy) .a fully satisfying experience. 5 stars but i hold back 1 star for the absence of ghee (tup) along with hurda. Reasonably priced at rs.380/- plus taxes... infact way cheaper than the usual farm hurda parties that u hv to drive to far away from the city and pay exhorbitant rs 700 or so !!! Shreyas- Please dont increase the price. Has polite n helpful staff always catering to your needs.Will come every year. Thanks Shreyas !! All the best. :)
