We stayed at the Palace hotel for 2 nights during our Ladakh trip. The hotel was booked full when we landed in Leh but we were able to book rooms here on our return from Nubra. Despite the rush,the hotel gave us very good prices and very nice, spacious and newly furnished rooms.
The hotel is at a good distance from the market so that one is away from the crowd and noise but still within walking distance. It has a traditional look on the outside and modern rooms inside.
The rooms are spacious and well lit and very clean. The bed linen was spotless - the towels had a few spots left but were also very clean. Slept well on both nights. The room also has adequate storage for all the luggage, jackets and helmets etc. (We were on a ride so we had a lot of stuff).
The best part about the hotel though is the people. Everyone is very prompt, courteous and helpful. Shabbir ji and Sharma ji are ever smiling and available for any information or help that one may need. Meeting them was what helped us finalise his hotel and this is where one would want to go back next time. Even at 5 a.m., Sharmaji was ensuring that we got a taxi in time to reach the airport.
The only thing that could probably do with a little improvement is the buffet breakfast food - though that too was not bad. But the small things like these don't matter much when everything else is so good.

We stayed at this hotel in Aug 2017. Hotel rooms are very good clean and comfortable. Service is excellent. Owner Mr Shabbir, Manager Mr Sharma dining hall staff (ever smiling) sharma junior and Thakur all are so nice and helpful make you feel at home. If i come back to leh we will surely stay here.

Going through a tour group for a holiday in India was a first for me and I had no idea of what to expect. I had opted for the deluxe package but when I heard the name of the hotel and saw its rank on TA, I was frankly apprehensive.
I guess when you have no expectations prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
My top priority in a hotel is a clean bathroom, once that is fine everything else falls into place :) Hotel the Palace (pronouced 'da' palace by almost all locals)
Centrally located, the hotel is clean and although not a luxury hotel is very very comfortable. The rooms are larger than most hotels I have seen and even come equipped with an electric kettle. The hot water shower after a long day was a pleasure. The food is good, the staff is courteous and helpful,what more can one ask for? The staff I am sure take their cue from the owner Shabbir and Manager Mr. Sharma who go out of their way to help you.
You won't go wrong if you stay here. It's real value for money.

Without doubt one of my favorite hotel I stayed till now . Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff . The staff were extremely friendly, caring and pleasant starting from the reception . meals were very good and delicious . Rooms were warm while outside it was very cool. Well maintained and very clean rooms . I highly recommend the hotel for everyone who choose to go to leh ladakh .
