This hotel was really great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. You have to get ferried by tuk tuk to it as the streets are narrow but it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was a bit of a tight squeeze but other than that it was good food.

This hotel is near the lake and has a lovely garden as well as outdoor pool and dining on the top floor overlooking the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful including making a packed breakfast for our 5am departure. Good WiFi

Excellent hotel with spacious, attractive room and marble everywhere including the room divider and all of the very large bathroom including the humongous bathtub made for two or even three. Well located walking distance to the palace. The rooftop dining was very elegant, especially the lighting. Lunch was served at poolside. Breakfast selection thinner than expected, the only criticism. Wifi in rooms and speed is okay. CNN international and BBC and Aljazeera available.

Udai Kothi is located in the old part of the city, near the banks of Lake Pichola, with a very narrow road (one car only) access for the last mile or so. Beautiful views of the City Palace and the lake from the rooftop and also our room on 3rd floor. In the evening the whole area is abuzz and a happening place with traffic and people, which we enjoyed. Architecture is like a Havelli style hotel, very tastefully decorated. We had a living area, a bedroom and a separate ensuite and a dressing area. Very spacious. Windows are large and with excellent views. There is a rooftop pool and restaurant. The restaurant is a bit small and they were doing some extensions.
There is a restaurant Amrei nearby on the banks of Lake Pichola with absolutely the best view of City palace and Lake Palace at night. Great location to enjoy a relaxing meal and drinks after a day of sight seeing. Food is ok.
A delightful and eclectic hotel very different from normal 4 or 5 star hotels. We loved it.

A surprising little gem located in a busy village lane of souvernir shops and restaurants. The building is styled like a palace and inside you will discover lots of interesting traditional artefacts from floor tiles, wooden doors, gazebos and also two delightful much loved in-house pets, a dachsund and a beagle! The staff were attentive and the gentleman at welcome desk was friendly & courteous. The restaurant at the roof top served delicious local cuisine. Waiters were again attentive and served well. The hotel is located along a lane with many interesting little shops. (I will recommend the Coffee Shop opposite the hotel) We walked with our guide to the cultural centre for an evening of traditional music and dance. Highly recommended event. Overall, I would highly recommend Udai Kothi Hotel without any hesitation!
