Good location and well modernised. That is the best I can say about the place. Before 9pm and the receptionist was curt and said the kitchen may be closed and rang through before she let us go through. The waiter insisted on taking our desert order at the same time as main course. Amuse Boucher was fairly tasteless and bread finally arrived after we had finished. Had to ask for butter. Main course was reasonable. Red wine was on the turn and I asked for a replacement. Instead of just replacing he argued saying it was good. Grudgingly gave me a replacement glass but on checking the bill the first undrunk glass was charged. Cheese selection was very poor and stale. â¬8 for three very small hard pieces. Overall poor quality and mediocre quality. Disappointing

We booked directly with the hotel and requested a quiet room. The room (no.8) was excellent, large and very comfortable bed, tastefully decorated and good corner shower in bathroom. There is a lift - but we also had a short set of stairs down to the back door out to the car park - so very convenient for bringing in our stuff!
We were well received and chatted to the staff member on duty on reception and learned that the owner had died six months previously - presumably beginning of April - so I am sure that this has had some effect on the staff. We had time to walk round the village which is pretty with a lovely church and almost restored Brittany house.
We then had aperitifs in a cute little bar in Hotel Palis and were brought some canapes.
Our disappointment was the restaurant. It does have a stiff atmosphere. We waited around 30 minutes to order so it was close to an hour before we ate and although we had ordered both white and red wine - neither arrived, nor did any bread. The food was fine, just that and no more. There was a large group booked in which may have skewed it for other diners. Next morning we were two of the last for breakfast and there was adequate provision of everything including coffee and a selection of teas.
I would stay again and perhaps chivvy the restaurant staff to be a bit more attentive!! One of them was working hard and seemed to be teaching another. I wish then nothing but well.

Great stopover for one night on route to Bordeaux. The welcome was good, even if communication a little difficult. We were happy with our room. The bad points were the breakfast. There were no staff on duty in the dining room and lots of items had run out. After requesting replenishment for two items which required us to leave the dining room, when the coffee machine ran out, we gave up. Don't think I could persuade my husband to return.

Room was not ready at advertised time. It was booked as "prestige" but did not fulfill all described details of this class of room (management did offer to change us when this was pointed out). Attic room did not have a view out unless you sat down facing the attic window. It was well-furnished though.
The hotel advertises a "spa", this turns out to be a tiny outdoors shed accessed via a maze of stairs and gangways, with a sauna, hammam, and a jacuzzi which is full with two people in it.
Breakfast was busy so a large queue built up around the single coffee machine and there was a long wait for extra croissants to (nearly) unfreeze.
For the evening meal, it appeared that not only all the guests but some of the staff repaired to the crêperie next door, which was very satisfactory.
The hotel probably gets away with hyping its image by catering mostly to people staying one night en route to elsewhere. If you book out of season there may even be room for you in the jacuzzi.

We stopped here a couple of times. Very good. Look after us well too. The only small slight problem I think they could do better with, is if you turn up later, after 10pm, be handy to know the code for the gate for parking in advance, so you do not have to worry about this and also getting your key, again if later arriving . Maybe just need something bit better organised . The restaurant is very good too. Would stay again ..
