We arrived Saturday night from our long flight and arranged a hotel shuttle from the hotel. They charged usd 65!!!! for a 20 minutes ride. This was the most expensive taxi i ever had in my life. Local taxi (Uber) charge you usd 7...

Nice spacy luxury and nice amenities. Clean and walkable shower. Very modern but in Hyatt style.

Rich in choice what you can expect from Hyatt. Multicultural choice from french cheese to african pan cake. All!

The personnel:
Here the standard is very low. The people donât smile and do not really know what service means. I would expect Hyatt to train them to Hyatt standards. Management is doing bad job here.

All in all good location close to (business) downtown. Life and entertainment is in Peninsula a 20 minutes ride with Uber.

Thoroughly enjoyed my return visit to the Hyatt Dar. The new concept in the Brasserie is most enjoyable; food and service was great. Also had the opportunity to dine in the Oriental which was as good as ever. Thanks for a great experience.

I called ahead to tell them I'd be arriving early, around 10am and they informed me that my room would be available. I arrived at 10:30, and the room wasn't ready, so I sat in the lobby and waited. And waited. And waited some more. Around noon, they told me that the only room that was ready was one that was higher price than mine but I would need to pay the difference. I was very tired (climbed Kili this trip) and all I wanted was a nice bed to lay in so I took it anyway. The room was nice, very modern, seemed like it had been recently updated.
Dinner at the Oriental restaurant was fine, but not memorable. The breakfast (included in my room charge) was really where it's at. The buffet is amazing: in addition to normal breakfast buffet goodies (juices, cereals/grains, pastries, omelet station), there were fresh coconuts for drinking and eating, lots of cheese and charcuterie, very good smoked salmon, and lots of hot dishes.
When headed there, my taxi driver told me it was the "best hotel in Tanzania" so I really expected better. While the facilities were similar to the Zanzibari (in Nungwi, Zanzibar), the service and helpfulness of the staff were far below both the Zanzibari and KiMbilio Lodge (in Kilwa), so best in Tanzania, it is not.

Highly professional and very welcoming staff. Comfortable room. Very good pool and excellent gym. Well organised for conferences and meetings. The rooftop bar is a great feature. Good views of the harbour area.

The hotel was a breath of fresh air compared to the hustle of the busy city. We truly enjoyed the benefits of the club level. My husband and I spent a lot of time drinking tea and looking out onto the water. Overall nice staff, nice amenities, and good club level service!
