Satisfactory review. Hotel room was clean, well maintained.their parking is the best. Spacious. Restaurant has a decent enough menu, tasty as well. Buffet breakfast was tasty with decent options as well..

I booked a Premier room in this hotel for 3 people for a 2 day stay from 12th to 14th Jan through Makemytrip. As I would arrive at Kozhikode around 6 AM, I called the hotel and requested for an early checkin, which was agreed to by a female reservation officer. She said I should call 2 days before arrival to remind them, which I did, and she promised to leave a note to inform the front desk.
When I arrived there with my husband and daughter after 6 AM on 12th morning, we were greeted by an unfriendly chap at the reception desk who promptly told us checkin is at 12 noon. I said I had requested earlier and the hotel had agreed for an early checkin. He grumbled that rooms were not cleaned, but when I spoke a little more aggressively, within 5 mins he checked us in and we were put up in our room. No idea why he lied about rooms not being cleaned. He had told us the extra bed for my daughter will be provided by evening.
The room was clean, but there were only 2 pillows on the double bed, just one each. There weren't enough coffee/milk packets for 3 and just 2 bath towels and one face towel in the bathroom. The bathroom was clean but wear and tear was very obvious with the grouting between tiles gritty black.
The breakfast spread was good and the restaurant staff was very courteous unlike the front office staff. We left the hotel after breakfast and returned after 10 PM and found the extra bed was not put in yet. Had to request for that again, 2 pillows per person and more coffee powder etc.
On 14th I was woken up by the lady at the front desk at 8.30 asking me about checkout. I said 12 noon and she said I should have checked out at 6.30 AM as we had checked in early. When I reminded her I was given the privilege of early checkin she tells me that automatically converted our checkout to 24 hours! I was made to pay one more day's room rate for overstaying by a few hours.
It's okay, most hotels have a strict checkin policy, and I would have respected that, but here I was led to believe I was being given a favour. I was never told that by checking in earlier, I would be asked to leave earlier than their normal checkout time. It was a clear case of lying by omission.
From the minute we landed at Hyson Heritage to the time we left, the front office staff made sure they made our stay stressful. I will never set my foot in that hotel again. Such a pity because it has many positives like good location, good facilities, cleanliness even after so many years and good breakfast etc. But I would like to remind the owners that all the hard work they put into building a hotel with a good reputation over many decades can be spoilt in a day by a few staff members who do not understand the ground rules of hospitality and empathetic interactions with customers. I have worked as a customer service manager in India and UK for donkeys' years and shoddy service is something I cannot handle.

Nice hotel close to the rail station. We stayed one night on our way to wayanad. Hotel
had good parking space. Buffet breakfast was on the other building across the drive way. Service was fine. Rooms had an A/c not in fine fettle.

We were there for only one night , the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious, the food was amazing specially the sea food, the breakfast was also nice, the staff was very courteous.
In all i would give this place a 10 on 10.

Stayed with Hyson Heritage during end-September. They were undergoing a refurbishment; it seemed there weren't many occupants.
The check-in process was smooth and quick. The staff were well-mannered and courteous. Welcome drinks were provided.
Had made the booking online for a Deluxe room. The bed wasn't the same as shown on the online travel website. Expected a king size (as on the website) but were provided with twin beds. Bathroom, though less spacious, was clean. Hot water facility was turned on only upon request. Toiletries (including toothbrush, hair products, shaving set) were available. Other amenities included electric kettle, coffee essentials and some office products like notepads, pens and paper clips.
Being at a distance of hardly 2kms from Kozhikode Railway Station, the hotel is at a recommendable location. There are food outlets like KFC and Dominos right next to the hotel. The Focus Mall and RP Mall are also at a walkable distance from the hotel.
Overall the stay was a comfortable one.
