We booked for two nights over Christmas - a month ahead.
On the website, a restaurant is clearly marked and on the booking confirmation we received, a restaurant is clearly marked. As my husband is handicapped, this was crucial to us, so that we did not need to search for food.
Sadly, on arrival, we were told that there had been no hotel restaurant for some time and that the brasserie, next door would be closed on our 2 days! We were shocked that this had not been pre-warned of this.
The manager was excellent and offered us a reduction, but it still did not alter the stress caused to us.
Pre-visit, I had emailed 3 times without receiving a reply.
The hotel is perfectly positioned in Carcassonne and has the potential to be amazing, but not as a 4* hotel.
The entrance is beautiful...a little smelly, but still beautiful.
Unfortunately, the rooms were not as good.....our biggest complaint would be the cleaning. There are certain expectations of a 4*hotel's standards.
The bed was comfortable and clean.
The toilet was in a cupboard on the opposite side of the room to the bathroom - no hand washing facility . It had been installed at an angle, so you had to sit sideways on it...very unpleasant.
On our second night, we had left our heating switched on low, for my husband's return to the room. We returned at 22h30, to find that the cleaner had removed the electronic card, at some point during the day, so the room was freezing, plus , no lights. I had to leave him in the cold and dark, while I dashed down 3 floors to reception to,get another card!
Overall, the staff were excellent. When a problem was presented to them, they responded very well and quickly.
I had one run-in with a receptionist, who took a long, suppliers phone call in the middle of our conversation. I received no apology. Very rude....
First breakfast was good. Quite a reasonable selection..
Second breakfast....the hot food was all burnt and should have been thrown away, not put out for service.
Overall, a very disappointing stay in a 4* hotel, charging 4* prices!

Glamurous hotel in the center of Carcassonne. The room was a bit worn out, but very comfortable, with a nice coffee machine and TV. They have a nice (but small) indoor pool that is a plus. We had mixed experiences with the staff: our check-in staff was a very nice gentleman who welcomed us with a big smile and provided us with lots of information about town. On the other hand, we had a reception lady who asked us several times if we were guests to the hotel when we asked her for restaurant recommendations - it seemed she did not think we fit the hotel (we are a young couple). Despite of that, we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Usually wouldn't leave negative reviews but I unfortunately had a pretty terrible experience at Hotel Soleil Terminus.
Great location, you're two minutes away from the train station. Carcassonne is an amazing place.
The hotel however isn't as great...
The woman taking orders in the restaurant was rude, abrupt and very disrespectful. This attitude was justified due to a language barrier even though we spoke French to her, no other compensation or apology was offered. This resulted in my partner being reduced to tears. Really unfortunate.
They don't cater for any dietary requirements either. No gluten free/vegan options.
Lastly, we both woke up covered in flee bites. The flees must have got the cold shoulder from the restaurant and came up to us instead..
Needless to say, our stay put a dampener on what was a great time in France.

Stayed overnight in the Hotel de Terminus, a splendidly archaic building still redolent of the early 20th century. Reception was pleasant and helpful and the rooms large, airy and comfortable.
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment being a self-service cattle market with several shortages in various areas, due, I think, by the lack of staff on duty at this time.
Still, recommended and would happily go back again.

Overnight stay. The first room I had was problematic. There was a really bad smell from the bathroom and there was a mosquito in the room (which I would never exoect in a hotel of this price). I complained about the horrible smell and they moved me to another room and this was perfect and more like the kind of experience that I was expecting.
The hotel is faded a bit, however it has beautiful character. The main reception area has a grand staircase and chandeliers. Breakfast is hot and cold buffett. Hotel is right across the road from train station. Was very quiet in rooms, no noise.would stay hete again.
