Far too big, too noisey and too much walking involved.

We stayed here with two kids aged 6 & 3. Unfortunately this wasn't the right place for us. There were many positives but overall the stay for us was spoiled by the negatives so i'll start there.

Resort was far too big, unless you are staying in one of the two central blocks then little legs will get exhausted. We had to carry our kids around a lot which isn't easy.

The top pool with the kids slides was crazy busy as was the pool adjacent to it and it smelt of sick the whole time.

Sunbeds usual fight to get one and you have to be up very early.

Food of a decent standard unless like us you are vegetarian, in which case it's really poor and really repetitive, even more so for the kids. It's a shame that so much effort goes into meat and seafood but so little for veggie alternatives. Main restaurant is a madhouse at times and you can be fighting for seats sometimes which is a shame.

We moved rooms in the 2nd week to the old block at the top of the resort. Whilst older décor the pools were quieter and nicer for our kids. Once again the lack of vegetarian food by this pool was very poor and the buggys that take you to the main resort at times were non existent which leads to sad tired kids and angry parents.

The cons were nice staff, plentiful food, decent shows in the evening and lots of pools.

Family holiday for a wedding

Stayed here for two weeks due to a wedding. Wouldn’t return as the canteen was like a 1960’s holiday camp struggled to find a table most nights. About 45 of our friends stayed here and around 40 of us suffered with debilitating diarrhoea and sickness no doubt caused by the lack of hygiene around food or the regular sick or bottom accident in the pool.

Could be good if there was an order to queue for tables and were shown to table by waiter and the hygiene was addressed

Stayed for 2 weeks in July 2017. Everything about the complex is great, perfect for a relaxing family holiday.
The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are great and the staff fantastic.

The restaurants on offer have plenty of variety for all of the family (even the fussy ones) and the a-la-carte options are great for a more relaxing meal. The snack carts near the pools are great if you don’t want to go to a restaurant for lunch.

There are plenty of pools spread around the rooms so you don’t need to go to far if you wish to stay close to your own room, the entertainment is there for children and adults alike if you wish to join in.

Overall cant speak highly enough of Club Cala Barca and have booked to go back for summer 2018.

Good family friendly resort, but don't go as a couple

Booked through Thomas Cook as family of four (2 adults, 6 and 3 year old) for a week. Originally hotel reserved our room away from main area, but very friendly Catriene on check in upgraded us to a room on the main complex overlooking the tennis courts. A great location and very accessible to everything. Thank you. All staff very friendly and welcoming.

Apartment clean. A few housekeeping problems, but nothing major. Not enough towels, sliding wardrobe mirror broken, but repaired. Due to main complex location, it was noisy most nights until eleven thirty pm.

Food was better than expected. Main buffet restaurant served a good choice of seafood, meats, salad and desserts and different theme every night. Other restaurants can be booked in advance, but we didn't have a problem getting a table last minute. Restaurants definitely family orientated, so don't expect an atmosphere suited for romantic meal for two. Alcoholic drinks and cocktails not so great. Soft drinks branded and fine.

Entertainment great for the children, not so much for the adults. Children were happy, we were happy. Kids club available, although my children didn't use it. The children that were there seemed to enjoy it and were always smiling. Entertainers tried most days to encourage our children to attend, so got effort from them.

Hotel beach not good. Worth traveling a little further to Cala Mondrago beach. Taxi ride from hotel for family of four only five euros. Most beach loungers reserved by ten am and beach gets busy, so arrive early and bring your own parasol and beach towels. You need to call the hotel to get a taxi ride back as there is no taxi rank.

Overall, a good family friendly resort.

Not a four star hotel!

We went with a group of friends in May. We had visited Majorca the previous year at a different hotel and this year opted for the all inclusive option. This was a big mistake. The hotel is advertised as a four star hotel. This it was defintiely not! The main restaurant (buffet restaurant) was ridiculously packed. There were never any seats and no form of queues for any of the food stations. The food was also not four star standard. It is also advertised that there are other restaurants on site. We assumed these would be table service with possibly a set menu, as at other all inclusive holidays we have been on. It was not. They were also buffet style restaurants and, as they were themed, had even less choice. As a result, we ate out most nights.

The entertainment at night was average but the staging area was packed and the hotel simply couldn't cope with the volume of guests. At some points, it was bordering on dangerous.

The pool areas were also packed and, at one point, the kid's pool was descended upon by the kid's club; around 25 kids with 2 adults - no life jackets, armbands etc. whilst the staff chatted to the lifeguards. Shocking to see! We then moved to another pool which was quiet but was in need of maintenance.

This is not a 4 star hotel and we will certainly not be visiting again.
