Rooms a little smaller than the average Ibis - but still a fair size - could do with a make over as some furniture was damaged and bathroom tiles needed a good scrub to remove mold.
On the edge of a "run down" industrial / shopping area - with other hotels and supermarkets near.
Staff friendly and spoke several languages.
Used as a overnight to collect someone from the local airport ( about 20 mins drive 10 miles ) away
Had a problem in the car park ( free ) - in that a metal wood working type screw was placed against the cars back tyre so that when driven off it would have caused a flat - certain it was not there when we arrived - as we used the same parking bay several times - and I checked over the car prior to checking out - and it was discovered about 30 mins after ..... just take care ... hotel did not seem to understand seriousness of this and unfortunately did not have any working cameras on the car park - just at the back of the hotel .....
apart from that a pleasant stay.

Hotel Est La Cite was comfortable with good breakfast options. The staff were attentive and happy to help you find your way around or book taxis as required.
The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from Carcassonne City and the new town centre, an easy walk but there are taxi's available, most of the taxi drivers and cafe staff speak English for those of us who do not speak French.
The old city is amazing, better than we imagined. The new town is also interesting with no shortage of cafes and bars to relax in.
We enjoyed a short canal trip and a visit to a local vineyard to taste their produce. The mistake we made was to buy wine to take home, our flight did not allow wine on board as hand luggage and we ended up donating two bottles of wine to airport staff. The airport check in staff also confiscated half a bottle of expensive deodorant as the bottle itself was 120 ml. That was an expensive check in.
It was an enjoyable short holiday but beware of the airport departure restrictions.

We stayed here in early May 2017 and found it the perfect spot to stay. Close to many restaurants and very close to the medieval hill top town. The staff were friendly and the breakfast excellent. Can't wait to come back again.

wonderful hotel for a one or two night visit. friendly helpful staff, good breakfasts and evening meals tasty. on the outskirts of the city in the shopping/industrial estate so nothing nice to say about the area unless you want a hypermarket or groceries or car parts. but good if you come by car, handy for the road network so more like a motel.
However it's more like 40 mins walk to the town and french non existent pavements at the side of a busy road are not pleasant walking opportunity. so get the bus. I was told about route 2 but 10 and 1 also handy, but no good for the evening or on Sunday.
If you want to stay in carcassonne for longer I think the rooms are too small. spend a bit more and get somewhere nicer and more central.

Excellent food, comfortable beds, friendly & helpful staff - what more could one ask...? We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Carcassonne - the food alone is even worth a detour - and the personnel are so friendly & helpful!
